Especially if they’re an attack sym on Eichanwalde. I mean damn, you should see some of them when they know what they’re doing. They wreak havoc.

Yes please, I don’t want this feature taken away again because of abuse towards people for playing a certain hero, save that for toxic players and throwers please and thanks.

I’ve only reported them if they are toxic to the rest of the team and are bossing us around constantly to play around them
Only if they were suboptimal and proved to be a handicap to us.
I’ve had a Torb on attack against a Reinhardt, Orisa, Winston, Moira, Soldier, and Mercy comp that hadn’t been working for 3 minutes, and he refused to switch. Torb wasn’t his main, also not one-tricking him or anything. But he just kept saying, “I’m doing better, I have gold medals” - and again, was toxic on top of it lol.
(Emphasis here is to give them time to show you it’ll work or not. I gave them 3 minutes while trying to ask them how I can support them or what they need).
Definitely never report for this. Everyone has bad games. Even pro players. Most people I’ve played with that were doing suboptimal have said, “I’m sorry guys, I’m having a bad game. I don’t play like this normally” - and that’s TOTALLY fine! I only report if they are - again! - TOXIC on top of it. 
Any of the above is okay if you’re being conscious and trying to play with your team better. But being toxic while doing any of the above I think makes these perfectly fine choices a reportable offense since it does sabotage your gameplay.

I only report players who either use cheats (wall hack / aimbots), is griefing the team to make them lose, is purposely being a bad team mate, offensive and abusive language.
Doesn’t matter who’s on what team, are you being naughty then I’ll report.

90% of the time players report what makes them angry.
I’m going to report both of those if they are getting countered, they’re not doing anything to help their team and maybe even not bother playing with the team and on top of that are not willing to change.

If they meet these requirements then you can report them
Maybe if they allowed a little more players to be avoided, particularly for ranks where there’s lots of players such as gold and platinum, then the report system might receive less of it.
It does indeed, I have probably wrongfully reported quite a few players over the time I’ve been playing this game even though they didn’t actually do anything wrong, in the heat of the moment.
You can abuse it by simply avoiding DPS mains so that your opponents will all be DPS mains and thus you have the advantage.
I think that’s the reason we can only avoid 2.
Intent is not all that matters. The end result can be just as important. Applying your logic to law, we should not punish people for manslaughter just because they didn’t intend to kill someone. And you shouldn’t sue the oil company who destroyed your 10 million dollar estate because they didn’t intend for their pipeline to burst.
It’s a team game, so you need to play around your team. You should be reported if you play in a way that negatively impacts your team whether it is intentional, due to selfishness, or due to willful ignorance/negligence. Until I have unlimited “avoid as teammate” slots or they have an effective, easy to use system for always finding a 6 stack, reports are how we have to deal with these players.
People are going to ignore you. People are just way too toxic when someone dares to have fun with an off meta pick.

I’m a new player and have so far only played in Quick Play. I came from HotS Quick Match, and I can say that so far I’ve ran into less troll players which is nice.
I think I’ve only ever reported 5? people in my OW career. Two of them being Widow cheaters and were apparently punished in the end (I doubt I was the only one who reported them, honestly).
I will keep reporting one tricks when they are players who refuse to change and work as a team, they know their pick won’t work they just feed the enemy and play alone is poor teamplay
I will keep reporting people with off meta choices, because they pick those heroes after losing one round to just throw and giving up.
