If our team needs a Winston to take care of the Widowmaker, I’d expect one of my 2 tanks (just to use as an example) curently in Rein or Zarya to switch to Winston to deal with the Widow.
You will still have counterpicking in any case. Why should I, one of the supports, have to switch to Winston to deal with the Widowmaker?
I think that is an extremely false premise. Why on earth would YOU be “the only person who can play the counter”??? That’s a very flawed argument. There are at least 2 players on your team that could play “the counter”.
But the only person you can count on from game to game is yourself. If you can make the switch and are willing to, there’s no reason to prevent that. It’s just punishing better players.
There are a lot of heroes and not everyone is willing to play the ones that are needed. I’ve had a toooon of games where we lost purely because of a Reaper that no one was willing to counter. Also a lot of games where I was the one who countered him because no one else did, and we won as a result.
So youre saying i should just slowly walk to the 2nd point while the whole team is dead? Sit in spawn and accept defeat because, i cant switch to someone that gives me and my team the chance to win?
I still prefer 2Flex-2-2 myself, and making it “optional” without RoleBasedSR.
The idea being that the focus should be on “Good Team compositions, done easily”.
And anything that detracts from that is problematic.
Imo the most important thing that will came out of this is role SR.
This is one of the most common reasons for ppl creating alt accounts - so less alt account/smurfs.
This is also one of the biggest issue with the SR - you can be about 1000 SR or even more with one role over the other. It’s not perfect, the best thing will be to give in heroes SR of its own, but it is better than global SR like we have now.
No, I do absolutely everything I can to ensure victory, rather than assuming someone else will do what is needed and just accepting loss when they don’t.
This is why you queue up as tank, alot of time the tanks are bad is because they are are dps players or healers who are forced to play tank because the role they usually play is not available. With a role queue of 2-2-2, you get more confident players on your team always as they have more experience with that role. personally i think its a great idea and will bring balance to the game that is honestly needs. The amount of comp games that get thrown because no one wants to pick up a healer or tank is far too many. Everyone wants to play dps and its frustrating as heck, and when they cant play dps they end up on a role they are not good with. Something like forced role queue will also force players to branch out and improve at other categories as they will have SR associated with that role
Honestly I think it’s less like giving people smurf accounts and more like actively encouraging players to try new roles for the first time in the game’s existence.
Not really the same tho, when you does placement with lets say dps after you did with support and finish on 3K SR, It will take into account that you played at 3K SR before, and won’t put you with mid gold at the start - like new account does.
Not really encouraging, just making it safer. What about this will make someone who only wants to play one hero suddenly want to play other heroes? People are expecting this to be some kind of miraculous thing that changes people’s attitudes for some reason.
