Ongoing micro stutters

The game freezes for a brief moment about every 15 seconds in any game mode, and it’s been like this since June. It happens consistently in the lower section of the training room & when testing with the network graph, the LAT jumps up to 300ms. There haven’t been any apparent hardware spikes in task manager whilst monitoring it during the stutters, but it’s not impossible to rule it out as a hardware issue.
I’ve tried various things like disabling my firewall, repairing/fresh reinstalling the game, clearing standby RAM etc to no avail. Also, my connection is over ethernet.

I ran a WinMTR for a bit while replicating the stutter, let me know if you guys need any more data like DXDiag etc, thanks.

Go ahead and add the dxdiag, because the winmtr looks fine.

Is this right?

It’s possible that this particular WinMTR just didn’t catch the latency jumps, since nothing is showing 300ms in your immediate network. You could try another one to try and capture anything above 200ms in the “worst” column.

Other issues that may be affecting your performance:

  • Possible fps drops due to Razer Chroma devices.

  • Do you have some other input device attached? Like a tablet? Sometimes those can cause fps issues. (I can’t tell if you have a touchscreen or not because your system model is not present in the dxdiag (not your fault)).

  • Your nVidia driver is reporting a crash, so you could try removing all drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller and then reinstalling the latest version.

  • It also may simply be the number of monitors you have active while gaming. You could try switching between Full Screen or Borderless Windowed modes.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately none of them worked however. (FYI I did have a graphics tablet plugged in but unplugging it & just using 1 screen did nothing).
Forgot something important earlier, this all started happening as soon as I upgraded the CPU, motherboard & RAM in my PC back in June. My previous parts never gave this stutter & I’ve only had this issue in Overwatch, all my other games run perfectly fine. (Was on Win 7 before the upgrade, idk if that’d play a part in this but thought it was worth mentioning)

Would video footage help for visual reference?

If you can play with the netgraph open (ctrl+shift+n)

^ some training room footage

The problem looks like its your hardware. This is supported by the fact that you changed some pieces out, and how it’s taking over 500ms to respond during the video (SIM hit 507ms at 1:52 timestamp).

Managed to get it sorted, stumbled upon another thread by chance and it turns out, Razer Synapse 2.0 was causing the problem. Here’s the solution that worked for me for reference in case anyone else has this issue: Overwatch Forums

Thank you for the help, feel free to close the thread.
