ONE year with 32 heroes

I realized it’s been a year since Echo came out.

“no new heroes until OW2.”

as the world moves on with new legends, gods, agents etc. on other video games, Overwatch experiences the same stasis as Echo. in silence.

Well, one year ago we didn’t anticipate the world stopping.

Tbf, we kinda did, as quarantine was in effect in alot of places by march

They stopped caring about this game after year one and pumped it for cash. Now it’s just a joke and I highly doubt OW2 will fix the underlying problems.

That…makes no sense

I wish ppl could stop comparing different games with each other  it’s getting pretty annoying.
Like we get it already, if you are so dissatisfied with how blizzard is handling their games and how they’re updating their games etc why even bother staying?

I’m sorry if i’m being a bit harsh, but as someone who really loves overwatch and can see how much blizzard has done and are doing for this game and this community i’m super greatful and i love everyone of them. They’re doing such hard work for us to make this game what it is, and i think what they’re already doing and have accomplished is amazing.

Yeah, but, it was meant to be short term, so barely anyone actually thought that working from home would be a thing. That came later than March. The US? Well, that’s another can of worms, but EU wasn’t expecting the quarantine to be almost forever.

Fair enough you know

Literally this

Like- I’m sorry that the deaths of nearly 3 million people around the world have “inconvenienced” you. We all know you really want that video game. Sorry. They’re working on it.

Nah I did I just didn’t have time to intervene

the fact that the last hero released was a dps is laughable with how tone deaf they are

Did you hear? They just fired more than 50 of their employees, while Blizzard boss is getting millions worth bonuses! That’s how much they actually care about this game and their players/community.

And please stop with “we are in the middle of pandemic” nonsense. It didn’t stop other even smaller companies from releasing the content regularly.

They stopped inputting any sort of longevity care into the game and then once people started by alt accounts let that be and in turn of not addressing it they are compliant with pumping it for cash.

The drama, the horor, how will one ever surive that?

but blizzard are a small indie company

What smaller companies with what games?

If definitely caught Blizzard with their pants down but I believe they already planned stagnation since they announced OW2. Other online services weren’t really impacted too bad, maybe a few months or so.

Hi-rez with Paladins.
Respawn with Apex Legends.
Fall Guys, Among Us, Valorant, Rogue Company… etc, etc.

This isn’t the only game Activision/Blizzard have. And they are working on a new game with a new engine.

I’m not sure of the mental leap you have made to suggest making employees redundant means they don’t care about the game.

Have you seen why they have made employees redundant? It’s for live events and event companies all around the world have done exactly the same thing.

Do you expect companies to pay people to do nothing?

If you do, can I join your fantasy world?

Hmm… any of those have sequels in production?
