If you one trick Junker Queen into double sniper Zen on Havana, you are objectively a terrible person and you shouldn’t be allowed to play comp

One tricks are probably one of the smallest factors making competitive feel unrewarding and frustrating.
Things I care about more than one tricks:
- Cheaters.
- Throwers not getting banned because the griefing/gamethrowing report category has been disabled for roughly 3 months.
- Player MMR/SR mismatch, it’s clear that a contingent of players is having their visible rank forcefully inflated so they can be used to rig games against or in favor of other players. i.e. player MMR indicates they should be in silver, but they’re kept in platinum or diamond to heavily tilt the outcome of the match.

banned from comp til they get 2 hours on another hero. most one tricks won’t bother doing that so they’ll just get weeded out of comp
Its a terrible map but only knowing how to play one hero is arguably worse. Its braindead and I hate that it’s not reportable, it’s just gameplay sabotage at a certain point only knowing how to play one hero
I wouldn’t doubt there are people queuing All Roles in Competitive just for weekly challenges and that only one tricks (when they land on the tank role) :p…
As far as I’m concerned, I’m at a point where I don’t even care in QP when I’m forced to go All Roles, aka Tank queue 2.0, to XP my Premium BP.
As long as devs don’t fix All Roles and make it 33% chances to land on any of the 3 roles, this issue will remain.
I only onetrick JQ when I’m forced to play tank, 'cause it’s the only tank that feels like DPS and I hate 1-2-2 for tanks… so, yeah… nothing one can do about it (until it’s 2-2-2 again or 6v6 or 5v5 Open queue as the main setup, with hero balancing around it).
Let’s start with the fact that they’re the ones being responsible for horrible 1-2-2 where winning almost always relies on the tank player, which takes the rest of the team hostage…
Maybe do something about it, like removing 1-2-2 as the starting point…
The rank 1 dps player on EU is a Junkrat 1 trick. The madman is Champ 3.

I can deal with that as long as that JQ doesn’t start blaming me for not being a good enough DPS or support.
People have floated the idea of a separate one trick Comp mode before. I think it’d be neat as one of the temporary side Comp modes.
It is horrible but I can’t justify people sabogating the game just because it’s the formats fault
The format is what the format is, only learning how to play one hero, basically throwing comp matches is something that can be changed. The format is not changing anytime soon
Tank is too important of a role to only know one hero. Guy literally wrote in chat “double sniper zen is so bad to play against” like LEARN ANOTHER HERO THEN
… you mean as a whole? I guess yes, there are many aspects of the game, outside the “human factor” that matter more, agreed.
Now if we are talking about which ones are more prevalent, I can 100% bet you my life vs yours, you will encounter more OTPs than Cheaters.

i have two tricked all my time playing like one trick, never has my team needed anyone else.
One tricks don’t ruin any given game they’re in though. If you’re winning, you probably won’t even notice a player on your team is a one trick.
Plus a lot of people mistakenly assume players that refuse to swap are one tricks. Oftentimes, it’s a rude person demanding swaps and the player on the receiving end refuses to be vindictive because they were insulted. I know how to play every single tank but if I want to try Doom and get yelled at before even 90 seconds elapse… you can bet I’m not swapping. They can call me a OTP from their perspective but they’d be wrong.

I’ve put up with playing tanks for 10 seasons but I just can’t with this so-called “All Roles” queue, that isn’t one… yet some second tank queue.
I’ve done my part, I need to have fun while playing tank and JQ is the only way currently.
I can’t skip All Roles weekly challenges 'cause ever since they nerfed XP, it got harder to finish the Premium BP.
It’s up to the OW team to add more challenges that don’t require All roles.
It’s not even about learning to play other tanks, I can play a bunch. The only thing is that 1-2-2 is not fun as a tank (at least with the majority of the tank cast), period.
I agree and that’s the whole issue with 1-2-2. And even if it was 2-1-2 or 2-2-1, the problem would be the exact same, since the game revolves around a counterhero picking system.
The only difference is that having one DPS or one support only might still remain fun to play whereas one tank only isn’t for most of the players.
This is going to surprise you but … most cheaters you encounter don’t either.
Like the blatant ones, sure. But there are many that just have WH on Tank and when you see the match, you don’t see a really really really skewed result etc.
Like I said, it applies to OTPs that ruin games, you will still encounter way way way way way way more games ruined by OTPs than by blatant cheaters.
Sure but then again, a lot of people assume “throwers” or trolls are just that and not one tricks who got their hero taken or just hate X hero on their team and straight up throw.
