One thing I miss from OW1

This is odd, but i really thought the old health system from OW1 was really cool.

Sure, its not “ gone” but the way armor health and shields mixed together was kinda cool to me.

Back then Mercy was the only hero with true passive healing, armor took more damage than health, and shields could regen on their own. Torb and Brig also could give permeant armor to allies. Symm had a shield gen that would grant 75 shields for nearby allies.

Sure, the green temp health system is probably easier for the game to process but it seems so simple compared to what it used to be.

I would like if they made a torb perk where he could throw down 75 hp armor (with a max of 150 per hero) packs for allies on a cooldown to bring back his quasi support function.

I always thought that Sombra’ EMP and how it could delete shields completely but not harm health was a unique interaction, and thought that adding more armor heroes to counter Somb would be a unique twist.

Anyway, just random thoughts.

HP gift abilities weren’t cut due to it taxing the software. It was cut because it was nearly permanent. +125 extra HP (+75 Shield Gen, +25 Torb Armor and +25 Brig Armor Ultimate) to characters, especially difficult to hit due to high evasion ability, characters would already skew balance in today’s games more than they already are.

Eh, IDK, it didn’t feel like it was that big of a deal. Shield gen was easy really situational and was mainly used in 2 cp. Torb had a ton of problems to stay relevant, and the overhealth from Brig was closer to the less broken part of her abilities.

But you are right. A bubble-wrapped Soj does sound as fun as getting a STI.
