Widow is dominating. 175 health was not enough of a nerf. Here are changes I propose:
Healthpool adjusted to 75 health, 100 shields (175 total)
Grappling Hook cooldown decreased from 12 to 8 seconds
Reload time decreased from 1.5 to 1.25 seconds
Scoped charge speed increased by 30%
Ammunition increased from 35 to 50
Scoped shot cost increased from 7 to 50
Now Widow will have to live by the adage “One shot, one kill”. She is less dependent on healers, can escape more frequently, and has more ammo for SMG, but she only gets one scoped shot before having to reload.
Like Tracer, this will give Widow’s enemies much more downtime for them to exploit between her lethal damage being output.
Sold argument. And I say she doesn’t. (Just to drive it home: random claims without any proof are pointless)
Leave her alone. She got a double-whammy in terms of nerfs. She got nerfed by herself and her counters got buffed together with her alternatives. Unless you’re a top-500 player (i.e. the whopping 0.0000001% of us) WM is not a problem.
Some are claiming that Ball is acting as an enabler by keeping pressure off Widowmaker and disrupting defenses that would normally stifle her (notably barrier shields and ice wall). Nerfing her when it’s the environment making her stronger may not make sense, especially if they do a quick balance patch to give Wrecking Ball the Doomfist treatment.
And how do you know that? Proof? In my opinion she was not a problem even before nerfs if you exercise LoS, team composition and diving her as to not let her a free reign. Unless WM is incredibly skilled (upper GM+) countering her required far less effort than the value she brought to the enemy.
Ball and Tracer if decent were always her bane and they are currently meta. “But you need to be good at Ball and Tracer!!” - so needs WM, likely x5 times better to oppose these two.
Oh boy yet another desperate housewife crying about window maker. Widow is the easiest hero to counter. Sounds like op needs to turn on the “get gud” setting in options.
I’d like to reduce her max one shot range to something like 25-30m. I don’t have a problem with her being able to one shot. It’s the ridiculous range she can do it from that is frustrating. At this range she’s a lot more vulnerable to flankers.
this would make her have the most rediculous downtime to have ever existed in ow. im all for her having more downtime and even making her scoped shots cost more. but thats just completely memeworthy.
What? In what world would this give traver a hero who if oyu have good vool down maniment can dominate a game be equal to shooting ever like 3 seconds and if you miss yiur dps is close to 0 so she would get no value
I think they mean to have widow uptime be comparable to tracer. Tracer is strong because of her pick potential just like widow but her dmg/game is small. She’s similar to widow in this way. They have huge periods of downtime where they are either waiting for a good angel (widow) or waiting for cooldowns (tracer). Both heroes have long periods where they do nothing but make up for it with sudden spikes of burst dmg.
u see what you mean but the thing is flankers have a get in get out play style tracer can get 2 picks before leaving with revind unless we give widow a new ability t get a free fully charge shot on like a 20 second cool down i don’t see her being played out side one one tricks and they will be a detriment to your team
I think widow should be moved to be a bit more like ashe. I think Ashe is basically a more healthy version of widow. If they reduce the range she can one shot but give her a few more defensive options I think that would be better.
you cant compare tracer to widow however bc tracer is pretty much the polar opposite of widow in terms of playstyle, role in the game and gameplay. tracers downtime gets complimented nicely by her blinks and high movement speed.
i am not against the idea of making widow reload more often. but after every shot is pushing it a bit too much in my opinion. it just doesnt feel good. i think it is very important for widow to feel rewarding to play that you can follow a shot that almost kills up by a nother quick shot. take that away from her and she becomes too unfun to play.
