One punch Dumb fist on main screen

So i was watching a friend play the game and I noticed the new main screen animation shows dumb fist doing push ups and other excercise moves.

This has to be the most poorly designed animated short Intro I’ve ever seen. Not only is it just cringe but it performs so poorly. I am going to guess it’s around 10 fps.

Its almost like it’s intentionally done that way

Not as cringe as this post unfortunately…

Hahahahahahaha, it’s almost as though it was intentionally implemented with a low frame rate XD

I think it’s at 24FPS to kind of pay homage to the animation or something? Yeah it definitely didn’t translate well to 3D and just looks bad…

It is on purpose, but damn its horrible.

I think it’s cute. He does the required daily routine. He needs to do this if he’s gonna be 3-10 punch man. :joy:

Thats more like 5 fps tbh.

Is it a One Punch Man reference ? It got me scratching my head but I don’t know the show.

It is. Hes got a reference to OPM’s workout routine in his voice lines that the animation alludes to

I mean, the framerate is also a reference ? xD Cause I’ll join people thinking its kinda ugly.

I wish they have put some anime filter on it or something.

At first I didn’t even noticed it because that is usually how the game runs for me and only started thinking about it when he teleported out of the bed. :joy:

How is my post cringe? I am basically giving back Blizzard some feedback on their art being horrible.

Frame rate is just a reference to animation/movie frame rates.
As people have said earlier, it just doesnt translate well in 3D

To be fair they should have just probably made like a one page comic panel, at least that way it’s a very clear homage to anime/mangas.

Oof Size: Galaxy sized

That’s not feedback. That’s being lowkey hostile/flamey.

It’s not exactly common knowledge so it’s very understandable that people also miss the point.

Feeback being critical or non-critical is still feedback, I wouldn’t call it hostile or flamey unless you’re just too soft.

It might come from the way they made it actually. When you watch a show, framerates are under 60 yeah, but interlacing and motion help the eye comfort.
I feel on the DF animation, they just removed frames at random so it feels they’re missing especially if you look at the cape or the torso during breathing.

If you look at an anime, characters are usually static or make big slow moves. DF animation seems too precise/ too fast for a lower rendering or they didn’t think together animation and rendering which is done for an anime.

Not mentionning that also, animes probably use computers to create additional frames for a smoother motion rendering and avoid the strange feeling of “jumping” frames that DF animation has.

There are Youtube videos showing he does each exactly 100 times which was a nice touch.
