Heroes are fun, viable, interesting…
I honestly hope that most of these changes stay.

Agreed, I don’t think I could ever go back to Live Sigma. I would actually stop playing
yeah dude, same goes for reaper, sombra, sym. they feel amazing.
The flying is fun to experiment with but the removal of his barrier is too major to be compensated with such a niche buff as that. If this is gonna fly grasp would have to be a meter and he would need some way of speeding himself up.
Definitely not better balancing… Have you played the mode? While it’s fun for now… Its definitely not balanced.
It just feels fun because it’s new & different & crazy
If it stayed up for a few weeks it would get annoying once players find out overpowered team comps & played to win
DVa finally feels like a threat. Still, her mech is like tissue paper
If not keeping it for the live “Balance” it needs to stay as an arcade mode indefinitely
No it’s not better balanced (how can we even say it’s balanced when it’s not even being out for that long), maybe more fun but largely, it’s fun because it’s different to what you’re used to, once the novelty wears off it might not be as good as it seems
That being said, they should definitely keep it as a separate game mode and maybe throw in whacky changes each month or at the very least have a whacky experimental event each year
Exactly. This is what she lacks compared to other tanks. She carries no real threat beyond her ult which has a hundred different ways to counter. Call mech is an ult too. It should have a certain amount of threat compared to easy ult farming and staggering as it is now.
From a logical standpoint as well as a balance one, having a giant mech literally fall on you from out of the sky should be a guaranteed death. Not only does it make sense for it to do so, it finally makes out of mech Dva something other than a joke. If you push her too hard and take too long to kill her, these changes force the enemy to respect her space. Taking too long to kill her, a.k.a staggering, comes with the risk of her being able to kill whoever gets too close to her in an instant.
All of this doesn’t even objectively make her better beyond the 30% ult charge decrease as the mech landing on someone rarely happens anyway. But when it does, it should benefit Dva far more than 50 damage and a knockback. That’s the trade off for trying to ignore her then being reckless in trying to kill her last second. It forces the enemy team to respect her. It’s something she desperately needs in general.
If anything it should be considered a QOL buff that should’ve been a thing to begin with. It’s situational and completely avoidable so it’s a great buff in general while not being oppressive in anyway.
Although a kamikaze baby Dva is possible and hilarious. Imagine baby Dva running at the enemy team head on and them frantically going to kill her before she can call mech on top of their heads. It’s great and needs to be a thing.
or at least give us a custom game code so we can use it in the future in some way. this is the most fun i’ve had in a While and i’m gonna miss it when it goes
Its amazing to see that blizz can make good changes but calls them a “joke” just because they are a little over the top. Turn them down a bit and then we have fun and impactful heroes again. Especially for the tanks it would be needed. You know… the hole “punching ball” problem currently.
Some of it over the top, but there’s some really good ideas in here that deserve a more serious look. A follow up experimental card working some of the better ideas in is definitely worth a try.
People are just playing him wrong. He’s supposed to play high ground corners now, not play out in the open
They made doom and reaper characters again
And genji got a buff that didn’t make him broken
I didn’t know that was possible
the experimental is filled with some very questionable changes that will be very annoying to play with long term, and definitely did not improve balance.
genji’s resetting deflect is super annoying and a big step in the wrong direction.
permanently flying sigma with a pocket mercy is a pain to deal with, even more so than pharah+mercy.
soldiers ult is just plain overpowered.
winston has his ultimate all the time and deals way too much damage.
but its a really fun mode because its different and new. easily the best experimental so far!
I think its fun simply because pretty much every hero has had their mobility buffed across the board and mobility feels really good to play. Its just nice to feel like you have more control over your character
No.
The april fools patch was something new and fun for a short while, it was awful balance wise, which was probably the entire point.
I mean outside of some of the more clearly broken “joke” stuff like Winston or Torb; there were a handful of legit actually decent changes that could 100% go live with a little bit of tuning.
Experimental Barrier should be changed to a team mate targeted version of Kinetic Grasp.
Damage done to it feeds Sigma’s personal shield health. Making him the “Zarya” of gaining temp shield health to tank.
Revert is Rock damage to five him a lethal combo but give the damage and stun time a “reverse fall-off” so that the closer the rock is used to him the less damage and stun time it does.
Example in point blank range, the stun duration can have a 0 multiplier within 1-5m. It won’t stun.
This would make Sigma a great “brawly” tank like the devs are thinking of making tanks for OW2.
The Torb buff is funny as heck. Winston’s buff, at least the knock back during his ult, as a basis isn’t a bad idea. They just need to tone it down a bit, but having improved knock back on the ult would actually be a good if it was the right value.
Pharah, Reaper, and Sym actually are good buffs.
S76 reload while sprinting isn’t terrible either but maybe go down to 4 ammo.
His ult targeting crit zones should have a split between crit and body shots.
The Zarya buff is really good too.
I honestly think they either took ideas that are in OW2 PvE level-based ability improvements or stuff they were testing for them and put them in this patch to see how we reacted.
Unfortunately, I still think they missed the mark in Bastion. And Mei tank needs some rework of her kit to make her function as a tank.
Personally, I think cryo needs a change to where she creates an oversized “ice armor” that she is inside of which has its own HP and allows her to use her blaster through. It can still heal her while inside, but remove the reload mechanic. Now she can use this to body block for her team.
