On Xbox. Turned off cross play

Every role there In both comp and qp was <7 minutes.

Turned it back on immediately. What a joke that this game HAS to have cross play turned on to have a functional playerbase.

Does it off mean Xbox only, or do you also get to play with PS and Switch players with it off?

Off limits it to Xbox alone.
Default crossplay just throws you into the genral console pool of PS, Xbox, Switch.

It’s the same on PSN, the console playerbase seems pretty dead. Or at least on life support.

Guess the Xbox playerbase doesn’t play overwatch.

Similar thing happens with other multiplayer games on Xbox. Even if on those cases usually is because are not in gamepass, so most of the xbox playerbase doesn’t play it. But ow2 is free
No idea why there are so few players.

I used to play always on pc, but past weeks I am playing on PlayStation vs only consolé players
And I find games pretty fast. But I always though it mix play and Xbox players

The mere act of ADDING crossplay to games is what ruins it for console only modes.

croosplay has been one of the worst ideas placed, as it makes it unfair play vs pc, plus the addition of posible pc cheaters.

Its because you no longer group with regular xbox players either
you are in a pool of only xbox that also has crossplay off. The fact its not 30 minutes + is surprising

I’d test this if I had an Xbox because circumstantial evidence isn’t on your side.

Did you try queuing or just take a look at the times and ‘nope’ out? Because there is a known queue time bug that fits the bill.

It’s currently the 6th most played game on Xbox in front of Roblox and just behind Apex, and that’s up from 15th a few weeks back.

While your estimated time is most likely going to increase (a correlated result of segregated platform play regardless of title in question) that is the expected trade off for turning Crossplay off, I do find it unlikely that the estimated times were correct given the current standing of the title.

It’s also important to recognize that Crossplay only affects console players if they party up with PC players first.

It’s because crossplay is on automatically for everyone. No one turns it off, so if you do you’ll never get a match.

I’d wager the filter doesn’t exclusively mean you’re looking for other exclusive Crossplay “off” players. It simply removes you from the whole console pool of players and only pairs you with players on your console.

But it’s important to point out that Crossplay only enables for Console players if they’re partied up with a PC player.

They are never in the pc pool to begin with, unless group with a pc player, like you said. So most wouldnt turn it off, as it just leads to much longer queues, plus with it on they are still just with console players.

I mean, you play against Playstation players with I assume the odd Switch player here and there. Who cares? It literally doesn’t matter.

#6/50 on the Xbox top charts, #8/10 on PlayStation.

Well console only (Xbox, PS, Switch) is what you get if you keep crossplay on.

You only get PC players in QP and Arcade if you party up with PC players first.

People really be in 2022, a full year and a half after crossplay came out, and STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND how crossplay works. Smh.

For the 4587th time, there are no PC players in the console crossplay pool. Console players will only see PC players if they GROUP UP with PC players. At that point, they BOTH GO to the PC pool, they don’t ever play in the console pool.

No, that is not what im referring to. I said, the mere adding of crossplay option. MEANING that people use that option now, which can split the console community for those who only want to play console. Even some games put crossplay as a default and it needs to be TURNED OFF (sea of thieves), and a lot of people dont even know they can do that. I am talking about all games overall.

Also, there are two schools of thought:

Crossplay meaning Console(any) and PC (the original perceived meaning)

But now people are understanding it as even interconsole as well.

The main problem is crossplay console with PC.

FYI - you dont need to be toxic for your own assumption of what you believe you understood.

The xbox playerbase always seemed smaller than the one on playstation. I purchased a xbox one s back in the day and found the queue times in Overwatch exceptionally longer.

Just a heads up yes to play you have to have cross play enabled i just tried queuing without (on xbox) and it with not find a game (queuing as every role) not just for ow i have tried on mutiple games since they set it to automatically enable it it just will not let you play period more then likely the person who said it only ques with other ppl with it disabled is correct

Even tdm while waiting is completely empty

I waited 30 at that point there forcing you and its complete bs

2 years later

crossplay off is like playing with ximmers

also wtf is this necrobump
