Maybe, but with how many different patches there have been and each changes the game and some of which requires completely different code that won’t mix with other code that was later implemented, that’s a lot of space.
Seems like in order to cut costs and especially if you had no plan or idea that you might need to one day bust out one of the old forms of the game from 7 years ago, you probably just have the notes of the patch on each character, map, etc. and wipe out old versions of the game that is just taking up space.
I think old UI is probably the lowest priority aspect of OWC. It really doesnt change anything about the gameplay, and would likely be a lot of extra work.
you’re right, i coulda swore it was played in engine
Because they aren’t using the actual old build of the game. It’s more a remake of the old build in the workshop so alot of the old assets don’t exist anymore.
OW2 still uses the same servers as always. Servers don’t have anything to do with game content.
The plain truth is that UI is just a lot of work, and they probably didn’t feel the extra effort was warranted for a limited time mode. It also could’ve created problems for content creators, who could lose potential viewers that mistook their new vids for old OW1 vids due to the UI.
only if the developers are so incompetent thay cant code a basic graphic element
Yes I state this later. It is not meant to be taken literally. If we are taking things literally I don’t think they use ‘the same servers as always’ because they’ve definitely shut some down.
Out of all the things they should do or fix in OWC, the UI is the least problematic.
It literally doesn’t do anything.
