Old borders in your profile and thats all?

I grinded more than a diamond border, they didnt even bother in making more back in ow1, so this joke of recognition feels so lame you know? Should be awarded with something more.

The only useful rewards we got from leveling up were the lootboxes.

Technically you get to keep your skins and they gave 2 skins for OW1 owners but yes, it is pitiful reward

I don’t understand why they couldn’t have allowed us to turn them off as they did with private/public profiles.

That way people who want the borders can have them and those who don’t want them don’t have to have them.

I think they updated it to become hidden if your profile is private

Trying to fix toxicity by removing the borders is like trying to cure cancer with bandaids

Yeah, not a good comparison.

People were toxic and did harass others because of their borders. Do I think removing the borders entirely was extreme? Sure. Did it fix the problem of people harassing others because of their borders? Yup.

But did it fix the problem of them harassing others? No. Now they’re just saying other things than borders

Yeah it’s pitiful to have worked 3,000 hours for max border in my case and our “recognition” Jeff promised us is just a 64x64 pixel little area hidden in our career page

As I said:

It got rid of one way people could harass them. I never said it got rid of harassment completely.

They could’ve given us nameplates according to the border we achieved (bronze/silver/gold/plat/diamond) at the very least,

it would be optional so ppl who feel harassed don’t have to equip it

Yeah and I’m saying that it’s not helping at all since toxicity is transformative and the forms of it are not finite

So are you saying that Blizzard shouldn’t do anything to combat toxicity, because it will just keep happening?

They should have just gone the Diablo 3 route and added customizable borders instead of titles, honestly that way anybody can choose to use up to the highest border you earned in OW1 or use ones you earned in Battle Passes and challenges.

That would be cool.
To make it marketable, they could sell different border parts in the shop and earn them from achievements.

But it never shows up in actual games anymore, despite profile being public or not, unless i’m missing something.

…what would you like them to do to recognize your dedication to the game…?

tbh I wanted levels and borders to stay, even if it was a plain number. I’d love if my name was displayed in a diamond effect, so other players could realize quickly, hey that dude is a virgin. Just the old border in my profile feels out of place.
