Look how comfortable I am just using the ability for my needs, rein goes in I bail him out each time, I get attacked by a dva on second point, Pull my rein in he stays attacking the dva, I pull rein again because there’s a moira somewhere bear me I didn’t even notice, he immediately starts attacking her (well I pulled him for 3 reasons 1 to get him into the radius of the tree of life 2 to heal him 3 to attack the moira).
You need to feel this comfortable with using pull, Do I have bad pulls? Yes. I also have bad lamps, Bad suzus, and bad ultimates.
But I am comfortable using pull for whatever reason I see fit. This reaction is usually the reaction most of my tanks have they don’t fight it they just keep going.
i have had pulls like that happen to me before. i be like why in the hell did lifeweaver pull me but it was because he was being attacked by something or needed help… most of the time tho i couldnt save him in time and he would die a horrible death at my feet. i’d be like “oh well”

Worst it can do is block you from moving in one direction. Maybe block one ability. But assuming it ain’t in the hands of troll, a Mei can drop the wall, Life Weaver can’t unpull you.
Block you getting somewhere, getting out of somewhere, put you up in the air, block your ultimate, your projectile, actually it can very very very effectively troll your team and take away your agency. That might be its point when an enemy uses it, but when your Mei uses it she’s deciding where you are allowed to go/shoot
Cool, that’s reportable and is trolling. Report them. That’s also the worst case scenario. Grip does that restriction every time.
Which can all be done by weaver except easier, and more effectively. And again, most of these are betraying one aspect of your control of your character, rather than your keyboard and mouse. Whilst also not being able to return you to where you were before.
Yeh but the argument is “I don’t like control of how I play taken away by a teammate” right? So fair is fair in my books, you wanna be able to cancel lifegrip let us cancel friendly mei-wall too
The point the guy brought up was in response to Ayanga literally saying he used grip every time to force people into his plan. That’s not quite the same thing. One is “Oh my teammate is doing something.”
The other is “My teammate has noticed what I’m doing and is specifically looking to control me and stop what I’m doing, because they think they have a better idea.”
Mei is not encouraged by her design to do that. Life Weaver is, and has a far more effective tool to do it with.
Bingo, also the reasons im one of the few people good with weaver, I’m not afraid to use pull for any reason.
Most of the time the rein was low or getting low and just needed a bail out, the other times I was trying to do something specific.
There was 1 game I was bring attacked by a winston, Immediately pulled someone over and we deleted them.
a lot of people are afraid to use pull for reasons outside of pulling someone at low hp, you’ll be yelled at, ridiculed and etc if you get it wrong, it’s one of the reasons this ability won’t be that strong in gm, because everyones way more afraid to take control over another player the way I do.
Chasing targets, helping myself, pushing high ground, This is the true nature of life grip and what makes lifeweaver who he actually is, heck I’ve even pulled dps just to help ne capture the objective or move the payload a bit.
Masters isn’t mid elo I don’t think, You forgot already I know we haven’t seen each other in a bit but that hurts my feelings, you forgot that I was the one pushed masters with lifeweaver?
Also the goal isn’t to look flashy it’s to show how the ability is supposed to be used.

This isn’t some sacred knowledge. You play like plat pc life weavers. I mean that completely seriously. You’re on console. Console is a very casual landscape in overwatch.
I do remember. And I also know you play on console. Whilst you refuse to accept it, I have also played in console and got to masters there easily. Yet when I swapped to pc I ended up in gold because to put it bluntly, the pc community is a lot sweatier, and a lot more competitive.
Console is filled with kids, with casual gamers, people playing on the couch relaxing with a beer. So on, so forth. It’s a much more accessible medium and typically houses players who treat it a lot more like a casual hobby.
You perform like people I’ve seen in plat on pc. Maybe some low diamonds. It’s the unfortunate reality of the situation.
And you didn’t show anything special. I meant what I said. It was standard plat life weaver that I have seen plenty of.
Changes nothing about what I said. This is how you get lifeweaver to work correctly, I plan on getting a PC user to adapt my style because this actually has nothing to do with console it’s more about mechanics and decision making.
It really does though. Because we all know Life Weaver works in lower-mid ranks, but it caps out at around low (pc) diamond. Nothing you have said or posted changes that.

Go for it. Plenty use it and it doesn’t work anywhere near as well as you think it does.
…Yes. Yes it does have everything to do with console, because it’s a far more casual platform. The average player in gold on console, is a lot less invested, and is a lot worse, than the average gold player on pc. You are facing worse people to rank up.
You are not, testing Life Weaver at as high of an elo as you think you are. I know a gm4 player from last season who one tricked life weaver this season doing a very similar playstyle to you. They have settled down to diamond 4 on pc. (It looks pretty weird on their profile, their tank, gm3, their dps, gm2, their support, dia4)
You are playing on a more casual platform. Accept it.
If you would like to dispute it, the absolute highest of console does actually start lining up again with PC. But this is in the realm of gm1-top500. Reach there and show off how good you think this strategy is.
Similar isn’t the same as exact there’s multiple things you need, A you need tree in cast on release, B you need to seal spawn doors, C you need to aim for 3-4k damage every game, D you need to play as if your a off support (hence why you’ll see me straight up leave people at crit). There’s also more but those are some main things.
Plenty also isn’t the same as showing me someone with my playstyle it actually took a crap ton to even get this hero to work on console.
No he dosen’t work in lower ranks at all actually most people usually switch off immediately, you can’t heal bot on console either, it’s why our meta support is Baptiste.
If you can’t show me someone who has my style on pc we’re just going by word of mouth.
He still needs some buffs to be really good tho, there’s just a lot you need to do to get him to function now.
We also have the added benefit of having 2 different sensitivity settings which I’m not sure if pc has.
