Ok like how does it work (solved)

So i was wondering, how does comp rating work end of season? if i play 15 rounds (beggining of season) in silver but play 5 matches in gold then i stop, do i stay in gold, or would i be in silver?

You place around where you ended prior season. Subject to wins or losses in placements, of course.

so say i end gold, but played most games in silver, i stay in gold if i do well in placements? (i am not in gold)

I’m not really sure what you’re asking, but if you play 15 games and stop, you’ll stay whatever rank you were when you finished the 15th game.

there’s no rank decay until Diamond.

ok, thats what i was wondering. thanks.

Actually placements are judged by performance similar to performance-based SR below diamond. Win/loss is mostly ignored other than how it influences you performance.

If you stop playing after 15 games (10 placements + 5), you will finish off at the SR you are currently at and will receive the appropriate number of Competitive Points for that specific tier.

Come the next season, you do your placements and depending on how you perform, you will add or subtract from your last SR score from the previous season. How much, it really depends.

I had won 6 of 10 placements and actually had my SR score reduced from the previous season by about 20-30 points.
I also lost 9 placements and had my SR score reduced by close to 200 points from the previous season.

However, that said, after a certain number of games, one may quickly regain what was reduced if one is placed at a Tier which s/he does not belong to.
