Oh boy, another fanmade balance patch

General

  • Armor damage threshold reduced from 10 to 5
  • Now reduces damage by a maximum of 50% and a minimum of 25%
    ** Essentially a hybrid of OW1 and OW2 armor. Weaker attacks are affected more heavily than stronger attacks, but the disparity is less severe, so characters like Reaper will no longer be utterly gimped while characters like Widow essentially ignore armor.
  • DPS passive reduces tank healing by 15%, up from 10%

Tanks
D.va

  • 100 armor converted to health
  • Defense Matrix reworked
    ** No longer deletes projectiles
    ** All attacks that pass through the matrix, be they projectile, beam, melee, or harsh language, have damage reduced by 75%. No longer utterly deletes half the cast while making beam heroes the de-facto counter even if they suck. Notably, on-hit effects will now still apply if D.va is around (lifesteal, etc.)
  • Micro Missiles
    ** Damage reduced from 5.5 to 5

Doomfist

  • Powerblock
    ** Now blocks stuns from the front (Doom can still be knocked back, etc, but his one defensive ability will no longer be a giant neon “gank me” sign to anyone with a stun)

Mauga

  • 50 HP converted to armor
  • Gunny
    ** Shots to ignite non-tanks decreased from 10 to 8
  • Berserker
    ** Damage-to-Overheal conversion reduced from 50% to 40% while firing both guns, and increased to 60% while firing just one.
  • Cardiac Arrest
    ** Duration increased from 3 to 5 seconds
    ** Damage resistance reduced from 40% to 30%
    ** Lifesteal reworked. Damaging dudes now applies a flat heal over time like Inspire for 0.5 seconds (1 second for Mauga’s allies). If procced continuously, heals for 15% max HP per second
    These changes incentivize Mountain Mann to think more about who to shoot, instead of just plopping himself in front of the enemy tank a go BRRRR till one of you falls down.

    ** Range increased from 16 to 18 meters
  • Tectonic Shock
    ** Can now be fired from up to 1 meter off the ground. Basically makes it a bit more fluid by letting you fire while jumping

Windowcleaner

  • HP increased to 225
  • Widow’s Kiss reworked
    ** Headshot multiplier reduced from 2.5x to 1.5x
    ** Charge time reduced from 1 second to 0.7 seconds
    ** Hitting an enemy while scoped now Discords them for 1-3 seconds based on charge. Headshots Discord enemies within 3 meters of the target for half as long
    ** Ammo per shot reduced from 5 to 3
    Cross-map instant death snipers don’t belong in games like this. Now she can’t singlehandedly hold an entire lobby hostage, but still gives her team a reason to keep her around

    ** Speed boost increased from 50% to 60%

    ** Can now be controlled manually. Looking at an area and pressing the Ult key will cause the beam to start moving in that direction

Lifeweaver

  • HP reduced from 275 to 250
  • 50 more HP converted to shields
  • Thorn Volley
    ** Damage reduced from 6 to 5
    ** Damaging an enemy causes them to take additional damage over time for 3 seconds. 1 damage per second, per thorn (additional thorns stack, but does not refresh the duration of already embedded thorns)
  • Lifegrip
    ** Now cleanses

So Pharah would drop from 120 per shot to 90. Hanzo would drop from 240 to 180. Reaper would drop from 216 to 108.

They definitely should bump that minimum number up a lot more. Honestly, looking at the percentages, 45% puts Hanzo at an equal damage loss as Reaper with 108 damage being removed (he’s still doing 132, so still more than Reaper).

Just say you want her removed from the game. Its basically just a giant nerf withou any meaningful compensation.
Discord is also hated, especially in the Tank community.
So gz for nerfing a hero into irrelevancy while also replacing a hated aspect with another one.

If you want to kill Dva then you can gtfo. And you also want Denture who doesnt even need aim to be able to kill from further away? What are you? A Moria pleb?

No. Revert armor and she goes back to being balanced. DM is pretty much the only reason she was picked before when she wasn’t meta. If you want to nerf her further, revert her micro-missile buff, give her a little less armor, and make DM reduce damage from beams to compensate.

LMAO… She’s one of the lowest winrate heroes in the game and just got her buff reverted. The only thing she’s gotten is a 25 health nerf. No.

Venture doesn’t need buffs.

I’m all for removing Widow’s oneshot and making her abilities more interesting and interactive, but this rework is weird. Constant discord on a primary fire just doesn’t seem very intuitive, and she should still be allowed to “oneshot” in some aspect of her kit. My idea was that she had more ways to poison enemies through her mines and ult and poisoned enemies took increased damage, enough to allow her to oneshot. It’s similar to your discord idea but incorporates her kit and gives more counterplay while still allowing her to be the “oneshot” sniper character.

Nah. His health is fine and he doesn’t really need another passive on top of his new charge passive. If he needs a buff they should just increase the rate of his charge while using thorns. Lifegrip cleansing is good though. I’d take that.

I think Brig is already pretty strong. Mostly because she plays well against current dive heroes.

Reaper is not a good example here. His damage isn’t affected by this, and never has been. His damage is always reduced by 50%; whether its hitting the head or the body of an armored target. This has not changed.

Secondly…

Armor already does what you’re asking it to.

Soldier’s damage is reduced by 10 from 19; that’s a 50% damage reduction. Soldier reduced by 5 from 19 is a 26% reduction; reduced further by additional 25% is capped to a 50% reduction.

No, this is wrong. If armor is reduced by 5 and then an additional 25% you’re basically back to a 10 damage reduction. Further, because headshots were not changed in this patch, any headshot on an armored target is further reduced by an additional 25%. So several heroes will see their damage reduced by 50%. Making Fortify nearly useless, or permanent on every armored tank.

Hanzo’s damage, on a headshot against an armored target would be reduced by 50%, not 25%. So Hanzo’s headshot damage would be 120.

Reaper would see no changes as his damage is already capped at a 50% reduction against armored targets.

Be better if it didn’t break lock, because the projectile can still be blocked on the way to the target, and obstacle in its path will prevent it from reaching.
