Given the new state of overwatch two, the game is basically overwatch one but more of a cash grab original players were lucky in the beginning because they were around when loot boxes were a thing so they could earn their things. However, with overwatch two that is gone, and as a result, getting anything now you have to pay for OG players, like to show off rare, skins or sprays to show off their original players, but now overwatch in a cheap lack of creativity, is taking old skins and putting them in the shop along with colors to get a quick buck. To original players this is frustrating because in the end you have nothing to show that you were there from day one itâs not about bragging itâs about being able to look back on your account and know you were there from day. One overwatch is scrambling to put out content With as little effort as possible. Overwatch truly died with overwatch two
Reminder that they forcefully took ow1 from us because they knew we wouldnât move on and play the inferior game
Hard to say honestly.
Considering that hype surrounding OW2 when it launched was crazy high and considering that playerbase numbers spiked, it certainly wasnât as a result of what was left of the playerbase that tapered off in 2019 and didnât grow again until 2022.
All the people that preferred ow1 would be back playing it rn
Make sure to express your opinion on Steam reviews.
It may eventually bring their attention if the things get very bad.
And the people who bought the game?
Most of the rare and epic ow 1 skins (I think even some legendarys) can be unlock with credits (which are free) if grinded. Sure, even credits are hard to grind, theyâre still no as hard as ow coins.
Plus let met remind you, the ow 1 stuff is not locked and unavailable to be obtained for new players, but how would the OG ow 1 players respond if anyone who started playing ow 2 for free all of the stuff from ow 1 with ease, a game for which they had to pay to play, but also grind and even spent more money on.
Just to make sure you know, Blizzard didnt took out lootboxes mainly beacause they wanted to, lootboxes were banned worldwide before even ow 2 came out. If they remained till the end of ow 1 is beacause since ow 1 was launch before the lootboxes regulation was aproved, they were kept.
Oh and another thing, skins and stuff are cosmetic, so your actual gameplay and gaming experience doesnât change if you have them. If you want them to show them off or just to have them so bad, buy them, but if you are not willing to spend money, then grind them. If not then stop complaning.
Which again would be what percentage of the population?
Because that population dwindled after Role Queue was implemented, and radically spiked when OW2 was playable in a beta state and launch and has stabilized at late 2017-2018 OW1 levels.
So what kinda numbers would it pull?
Splatoon 3 isnât perfect, but itâs solid in every and Iâm given more of an incentive to play, with cool events and new items coming; Overwatch 2 gave us a cringy K-pop crossover while pandering to the same fans of the same characters over and over. Overwatch is a glorified shop that has a PVP mode, the gameplay is good Iâll give them that but itâs a sterile experience meanwhile Splatoon is oozing with personality
You left out the poor management, content drought, and terrible balancing. The numbers didnât dwindle for no reason
So thatâs why Iâm asking how many players a content drought stricken, terribly balanced, poorly managed, low player count OW1 wouldâve drawn and attracted from OW2 if it was kept around?
I donât want to spend money on something that used to be free. I dont want to spend money on a last minute, cheap, unoriginal, capitalistic garbage. Hope this helps
yup, iâve been here since launch and i donât even pay attention to cosmetics anymore cause theyâre not for me. Theyâre for whales.
Nah, it just became leather bound and ball-gagged under the watchful eye of the big A.
honestly this make me sounds like a skin gatekeeper but not all ââexclusiveââ skins need reruns, specially with how frequently they making skins now.
but what can i say⌠for me exclusive skins are the least thing to be pity about, iâm just disappointed that they removed a whole ton of features in overwatch2 with no explanation, i think they even removed older players data from their profiles which is⌠???
the one feature i miss the most is player borders, as much as it was a reason for ââtoxicityââ, i think they couldâve implemented a sort of system to be able to hide them and customize them, something like what valorant has.
first, the lootboxes system being taken away is not an excuse to have a bad/poor monetization system.
seconds, half of those skins that are unlocked with the legacy coins straight up suck and even lower in quality.
third, premium coins are barely even gainable through playing the actual game, which is not okay, considering that every bit of decent enough content is purchasable with them.
fourth, people ââcomplainingââ is fully understandable with how low overwatch went since this ââ2ââ.
I loved off tank. Tank synergies and strategies were the most fun you could have in game. They completely removed that playstyle from the game.
They still havent updated my stats from OW1. Still missing 1500 hours+
this is just so sad⌠sorry to hear that, i guess they really went that low.
