(Off-topic) Hurricane Helene

I’m not typically one to post off-topic threads here on the forums these days - as I will never be able to match the high-quality off-topic threads posted by Sunday’s finest - but I am making an exception due to the…most interesting…reports out of the Southeast United States. And when I say most interesting, I mean highly concerning.

To anyone in the Southeast U.S. who may be reading this - please remember that your life is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than any material belongings - be they physical or digital - and that your real world safety is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than whatever is going on in your video games (be it this game or others). So please take this storm seriously and do what you need to do ensure your safety. I assure you, Overwatch - or at least, Blizzard - will still be here once the storm has passed.

That’s all. I’ll be back later when I can be bothered.

If you’re not willing to drown for the W, you don’t deserve it.

(Stay dry, people.)

A wonderful day to be Western European!
Kidding. We also get our stiff breezes soon and what a surprise - the train services already excuse themselves. They can’t handle anything, even if there is no anything.
Stay safe out there.

That’s unforgivable! Imagine needing to play quickplay during a hurricane. Blizzard needs to fix their game.

How do you have the new icon, while I am stuck for two years with this one, unable to change it?

yea truly. playing quickplay is bad enough but during a natural disaster? cmon now. too much.

Luckily, while my area is getting affected more than usual, mountains pretty well insulate against anything worse than floods and tree falls and my home is high enough to not have to worry about even the floods much. I just have the very first world problem of having to worry about potentially very bad power outages

So, Europe now gets a little stiff wind. I can report that a chestnut (with spikey skin) pounced onto my head. Is it the time to invent the formula for gravity like Newton did?
Oh, and how is/was it going?

I’m in Florida. I’m very lucky that we only had minimal damage where I live. Apparently the southern part of town is almost underwater(?) heard it was absolutely blasted. My grandmother’s place also got absolutely blasted, so I’m going to go do her repairs and pick up all the trees that got blasted.

So happy she’s safe though, honestly. I love my Gran. She still doesn’t have power though.

My power also went out last night. Went out a few times for short periods of time, I was annoyed because I was trying to watch the Overlord anime on Netflix in preparation for the movie this November.

Didn’t do much other than mildly annoy me and provide killer ambiance for my Digimon Cyber Sleuth playthrough. Oh damn, shoulda played like… FF7 Remake or Control…

Also don’t forget to blame your future teammates if anything happens due to the hurricane.
