Odd Battery Logic

Whenever I unplug my laptop while playing Overwatch, the frames reducce dramatically even when setting the battery mode to best performance. Yet when i set it to battery saver mode, the game stays within 70 FPS range. What…?

Edit: So I found the solution in some sort. It seems as though best performance mode does some throttling, causing constant frame drops, so what I did was go to the battery settings and find the overwatch app and uncheck “Let windows decide when this app can run in the background”. Not just that but with this still checked I also tested out the software, Throttlestop which again helped stop the frame drops. Why is it that best performance does this?

Best performance is more like “optimal” performance, meaning it balances battery and performance levels.

Maximum performance is the setting that lets you use the most of your GPU power, forgetting about battery cost.

I also recommend always playing on a stable power and network connection. Relying on your battery and using a WiFi connection is subjected to failures and disconnections. Remember disconnections counts as leaving and is subjected to any appropriate penalties including suspension from Competitive and loss of endorsement rating.
