The only explanation I can come up with for not being muted or suspended at least once in my entire overwatch career is because of Aussie’s attitude towards banter and swearing.
I regrettably let some of the IRL stress get to me sometimes and let the frustration drive my impulses. I’ve said “x diff” plenty and gave toxic spiels or one-liners about my teammate’s gameplay way more frequently than I’m proud of, and swearing a lot (which people say they get suspended for?), but nothing’s happened. No warning, no ban, I’m endorsement 5…
I don’t know if it’s because of my region, we swear and banter a lot in australia so maybe people don’t get offended as easily, idk. I just have a hard time believing people when they say, “oh this suspension came out of nowhere I’m not toxic it’s just gamer banter!” when I’ve probably said a lot worse than “gamer banter”.
I don’t know if Aussies just don’t care enough or don’t see a need to report things they think aren’t that serious, or if people are just wildly exaggerating their bans and trying to make themselves look innocent. Any other aussies experiencing the same?

The report and racist issue seem mostly isolated to NA servers. I have certainly said many things that ppl would consider “toxic” over the years and i never got any actions taken.

I think part of it is our sh-t talking/taking the piss culture.
We also like to troll quite a bit and laugh about it.
Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some horrible sh-t like telling someone to k-ll themselves.
But for the most part, it’s banter.

I get messages for successful reports pretty regularly but I only report people who really suck (actual racism etc.) and not just for “x diff”, which is toxic but imo “acceptable” if you’re not pushing it. I’ve never had a warning or anything despite swearing and maybe being toxic when someone has a go at me.
Though I dont think any self respecting OCE player has ever reported someone for a swear lol

The OCErs are also less likely to go well off the deep end and get truely obnoxious.
When I got on the US servers I was pretty shocked. OCErs are a pretty chill bunch.

I have never been suspended (in-game) and you have no idea how weirdly annoying ThiccBuddha truly is. The forum version of myself is not even my final form. I am truly a despicable creature and the fact that I have never been punished despite the fact that I am roughly 6.9x worse than any other freak I have seen is WILD. Albeit, that was back in the day. I am reformed. Not the Dafran version of reformed. It is relatively safe to say that I chickity-checked myself before I wrecked myself, boi.
I digress, Australians are the nicest people in my experience. They probably believe toxic players just need a snickers and do not bother submitting a report unless someone starts ranting about their secret desire involving kangaroo.
I play on EU, and I have regrettably said some… foul cough things over the years, but have never received a mute or a ban. It’s a double-edged sword, really, as I also have yet to ever witness one (1)!!! pop-up stating that a report has been acted upon. Meanwhile a US friend got muted for telling his tank to eat a salad, lol smh bozo

you are from oce, are you still getting matches in oce as gm and master ? how is the q times.
for sg it keeps throwing into kr servers if i enter low masters.
That is truly unforgivable. Why would I need a salad when my burger has lettuce on it? Your friend seems very silly.

wait till you get into ME server or a toxic EU one .
NA is actually pretty alright.
Though self proclaimed nicest server in overwatch is SG server, close second is tokyo but they are way too quiet often.
In tokyo server if someone starts ranting , everyone will leave vc its the funniest thing and they wont even be in stack. 
What is SG? South Georgia?
thats nice, for some reason i keep getting into kr servers, they used to be fast before at 100 ms which while lot is still playable, but after some sea cable cut the ping is higher.
sg gives 40-50 ms.

singapore servers, but basically its the hub of southeast asia, you will find indians, sg, philiphines, even taiwanese and chinese and japanese, also koreans who are bad in their servers will form stacks and try to smurf here, also we have super thais they are the most tight knit high elo group in the server 
oh i forgot when ever oce playercount drops they come visit us in sg servers too
that said sg is one of the most friendly servers in ow you will find, only time we had toxicity was when netease was shutdown and we had a influx from china, but even they have settled down now to the pace of these servers.

yeah we get that problem here too. sometimes we get gsg1 which is singapore i think
115ms games when every player in the lobby is oce
GM is also non existent post season 9 lol, a lot of the time there’s only 2-3 GM’s in a M-GM lobby

Yeah this. I report for personal insults that were clearly not banter. When it becomes personal, that’s where I draw the line. But I swear like a trooper and have never been banned. In fact, I didn’t realise it was a thing until recently when someone on NA got banned for swearing lol. Note that when I swear, it isn’t aimed at anyone. If I want to make it personal, I aim it at Blizz, normally for the match making failure.

I think it’s largely that people like to uhh “understate” the storys of them getting banned.
Saying “oh yeah, I got banned for stating the 14 words at the story of every lobby” isn’t going to win hearts and minds on the forums.
