Numbani is a bad map and here is why

I hate this map so much that it makes HLC look amazing.
On defense if you lost the first point the map snowballs all the way over to third point instantly with no chance to even catch the cart in second point, that is so frustrating and the third point has so many flanks that its impossible to actually hold.

On attack the first point is the worst point to attack period (not counting paris first point) the flanks are way too far to actually use.

Please do something to this map its idiotic and i just sigh everytime i see it.

The map is too large.

Welcome to pretty much every map ever since launch. Most are too big, have to much high ground that only benefits hero’s with verticle mobility and so on.

Tons of objectives with little to no cover making you fodder for snipers if you don’t have a shield and so on. The worst are 2cp maps, but payload is often pretty bad as well. 90% of the map is useless if you have to stick to the payload route, which is almost always devoid of any cover at all.

The only map that is close to good is maybe kings row and HLC (no joke) at least both have cover.

Numbani isn’t actually that bad since there’s still plenty of covers.

Havana and Rialto, now that’s basically Numbani but magnified. It’s just terrible.

yeah the numbani map needs a rework, I’ve never seen a succsessful hold on second point, it’s always been on first or third, since for first point there is only 1 or 2 good paths, the high ground and mega pack room. Third point is only held because of it’s proximity to defender spawn

Pretty sure thats because Kings row at least was a launch day map. The first maps seemingly had effort put into them. They worried about game balance and stuff like that.

New maps are just made to look cool, have pretty backgrounds. That is about it, game balance or flow is never considered. Just some stupid gimick they take no advantage of like Zero G on the moon map.

I think the only half decent map to be released since launch was Junkertown. It’s generally fairly balanced in terms of map design.

Numbani design is also abysmal compared to havana at least, and havana second point is a relive but numbani is either full rambo push or a sleep camp.

Even the third point is mostly a joke, you can stall there but the “Choke” is so close to the end one team wipe from an ultimate can push it straight there pretty much.

I genuinely believe HLC after the rework is better and i hope to see it back in comp.

Do it’s hard to defend, but it’s also hard to attack?

Yes, first point is a hell other than that no.

How can it be hard to do both though?

Numbani hasn’t been the same ever since they patched out the Giant Sprays.

Its a okay map it just sucks on attack.

Eh, opinions then, frankly, Numbani isn’t as bad for me. I frankly take far more issues with Havana because Numbani 1 and 3 point feels decent.

Havana entire map is the worst aspect of OW combined.

If you got thro point 1 its easy

My feelings exactly, second point never matters because the only time you can potentially stall the payload is on the corner after the statue by the bus.

Havana is just sniper meta… so it’s a painful map

Most maps are comparatively small compared to other FPS games. Numbani is still smaller than Halo’s Blood Gulch box canyon.

Not really true. Although the game’s objective forces you to play toward it, most payload maps are actually fairly well designed.

Numbani was also a launch day map. King’s Row and Hollywood were both in the beta the same day as Numbani.

Most of the hybrid and payload maps tend to be well-designed. Many players struggled in the hybrid maps to defend point 2 for a number of reasons, one of those being the pathway was too short. That’s why they made Eichenwald’s point 2 extra long. Same pattern was repeated with Blizzard World. Hollywood is younger than King’s Row and Numbani and also features an extra long path for point 2.
