I am so sick of the “pros” we were talking about reaper being super strong for so freak’n long and they just freaking mocked us. Now every single video that covers overwatch news and cover overwatch league are talking about how overly tuned they are and how strong they are now that they are forced to stop playing 3/3 comp.
But at the same time they are saying only the pros play those two and that they don’t work on ladder in any rank besides pro play/league…and I am here like W…T…F… down here in 2 2 2 land that most ranks have been playing since the pros were stubbornly playing 3/3 have been talking about how OP they are thanks to their buffs that they were given to combat against 3/3…
All you see in overwatch league at the moment is mei reaper…The pros really annoy me so freak’n much. Oh and also, they are talking about junkrat too…The other hero that was overly buffed to deal with 3/3 comp…even though goats is dead those 3 heroes still have their buffs that were made to deal with 3/3…but the so called pros are only now admitting their overtuned power. If they are so "pro"why are they having issues with heroes they mocked us for having issues with now that they are forced into 2 2 2

In OWL you have the same couple of guys who always play together … you can’t compare that to throwing together 12 random people from which half only play 3-4 hours a weak. It’s ridiculous that OWL doesn’t get it’s own balance patches.

There’s a very simple reason for this; It’s because they were garbage until now above low ranks. When the meta finally changed they actually became good picks, not before then.
The meta is what decides how strong the heroes are, not heroes by themselves.

That’s completely backwards lol. The strength of the heroes decides the strength of the meta.

We’ve known Mei was strong for a long time. Goats and snipers just kind of overshadowed her a bit; although she did see some good use last stage even there.
The buffs to Reaper’s survivability and mobility however, are something we saw in lower ranks a long time ago for being strong, it was just getting in there that was an issue for him. Now it is isn’t.
So here we are.
I’m not sure Mei is as much a problem as Reaper is.

How strong they are in conjunction with other heroes decides the meta unless a particular character is extremely overpowered. Not the individual strength of heroes.

They werent garbage in any rank that didnt play 3/3 otherwise you can call every hero in the game that wasnt part of 3/3 garbage. Which isn’t true. Not everyone played 3/3. Even lots of big streamers in GM werent playing 3/3 and were getting killed constantly by those 3. But everyone was so focused on watching the league play 3/3 that they ignored what is going on in the actual base game after those 3 were buffed. Just like how long it took for the “pros” to catch on to the hog orisa hook combo that we were doing while the pros were stuck in 3/3 land. Now they are doing the combo because it is super strong once again despite the fact that we have been dealing with that combo for a long time. But once again the pros find that to be super strong…now that they are once again forced into 2 2 2. You don’t see a pattern there? If you dont I dont know what you are high on.

Yes, because several DPS (Hanzo, for example) characters also made him useless. Especially when you could just pick 3 dps and completely invalidate him if he was a problem.

I mean, he really isn’t all that strong by himself.
Reaper and Mei strong?
Please dont take the hero choices of OWL players as a statement for what 100% of the players should believe. Even in OWL Reaper using death blossom has been underwhelming more than half of the time.

Put a link up, what pro is claiming Reaper is powerful. I have to see it for myself because there is no way it exists.

Reaper is actually decent in enforced 2-2-2, although only on maps with lots of cover where he can TP around a lot without dying instantly.
None of those are pros, just FYI.

decent, i rarely ever see a reaper popping off to consider him even remotely overpowered, and dont even get me started on junk.

They cover ovewatch league and interview pros constantly. Some of the gladiators have been interviewd as well as other league teams. Even big streamers like fitzy, phareha, and countless others. Even jeff has been on their channels
It is possible for even pros to not know what they’re talking about.

Those people are not professionals… At least not OWL professionals. I guess they are entertainers with a profession surrounding Overwatch… But some of those clowns have been saying Reaper was strong for a long time. Such as Freedo. He says it like every patxh and this is the first one that stuck.
