Let’s try to acknowledge the inevitability of 5v5 and instead offer solutions and ideas for the devs to try out when it comes to implementing it. Complaining about its mere existence, while it is your freedom to do so, will ultimately change nothing about the outcome of it. 5v5 WILL happen, we should start working to help the devs make it the best it possibly can be. They care about the game as much as we do!

I wonder if they shouldn’t at least try 1-3-1 instead of 1-2-2. With one tank, two supports is overkill, and Paladins generally follows a 1-3-1 format.

It doesn’t really matter what suggestions we offer, it’s their design philosophy that’s flawed. They want OW to be more in line with what a generic shooter is, and that is something I vehemently disagree with. So we are at an impasse.

While this is probably true it is still important for people who dislike the change to speak up because if it so happens to be a significant part of the community then it can definitely have some sort of impact than if we didn’t. For example, at the very least they might add a 6v6 mode in the arcade for those who don’t enjoy 5v5, if we let them know that enough people want it then it can actually happen.
I have a really crazy idea here but how about some new heroes especially new tanks/brawlers designed specifically for this new format! Oh- this is sarcasm by the way.
Really I just think the game mode they will put in place of 2CP should be made specifically for the 5v5 format.

In a sense, as much as the thought of 5v5 upsets me, I am glad to see they finally seem to have figured out what they want the game to be and aren’t letting themselves be shaken despite criticism.
After the first year or so, the team really seemed to lose sight of what they wanted the game to be and kept flip flopping around trying to keep all the different sides of the community happy. It’s important to listen to us players, but at the end of the day, the devs have to have a core vision and stick to their guns on it.
I’m just coming to grips with the fact that Overwatch is going to become a game that just isn’t for me. 5v5 and the attendant changes are just… off-putting. No interest in playing that game.
