Focusing on Iggy today, as the next hero candidate.
Iggy is an omnic that lives in the Underworld, an omnic city beneath King’s Row.
Iggy is a fan of English pop music. Her favorite bands are the Stooges, the Ramones, and the Beatles. She is far less appreciative of omnic music, not even sure if it could be called such a thing.
Iggy worked in a lab with a technician who introduced her to human music with the song Lust for Life by Iggy Pop. Over time she developed an interest in music, and shared her appreciation with two of her omnic co-workers; Lady and Lizzy. Iggy moved into the Underworld, rooming with Lizzy and Lady.
You can see the rest in her comic but the sort jest of it.
She is another omnic, likely brings music and chemicals, likely a support.
Is friends with Tracer and will likely play a major part in any London missions… which we know PvE will have some.
Giving Iggy likey 1/3 of chance being the next hero, along with Overlord. (also 1/3)
Note she technically has five comics about her. (should not be dismissed)
I am down for Iggy to be the hero though. I have headcannoned that she is from my city, the birthplace of the Beatles, if so I can’t wait for all the Americans to not be able to understand her.
Well, in favor of her, Iggy looks like she would require very little redesigning to look like a fully-fledged hero. She has a lot of character-indicative details with her design, and a distinct head silhouette. And she’s deeply related to some pretty core themes in the franchise.
But as a counterpoint, Iggy is really expressive in the comic. I’m not sure if they could capture the same freedom of movement with a 3d model.
I’d like to see her as a hero. Not my first guess, but she could be cool.
I read this then I think of Orisa her eyes tell all. Even bastion conveys emotion in his own way, ironically the only omnic/robot hero that seems the least expressive is echo the one that is literally designed to mimic human behaviour. Say what you want about blizzard but there character design and general characterisation (barring a few exemptions) is stellar
