Not spending money on the game won't fix its problems

All you can buy are cosmetics, and people spend the money how they want, if they earn it. I buy everything i want aswell, and don’t want some 16yo telling me what i should or shouldn’t buy. Honestly, not spending money on the game because you “don’t want to”, to try make them focus on other things other than cosmetics, won’t fix the game. If they start to get less and less money, they will work less and less anyways, so the game is doomed the same way. Just have fun, and let people have fun, instead of ignoring them inside the game the entire match just because they have a cosmetic you want but couldn’t afford.

For some people it’s ok to spend 40/60/100€ every weekend to have fun at parties where they get drunk and use drugs. For me it’s fun to spend 40€ every 2/3 months in something i like and enjoy after my work and daily routine.

Money money money money :dollar: :money_mouth_face:

Spend it how you want let no one tell you what to do

Spend money on what you want. People act like blizzard are the only thing money gouging.

Yeah right. Life in general nowadays is money gouging. Are we gonna stop buying food? Gas too? Maybe stop buying clothes?

The forums are a minority in the broader Overwatch community. Even if all the forums weren’t buying anything from the shop, as long as a few people with too much money to spend keep on buying shop skins, they have no incentive to reduce prices.

I’m sure prices will lower in the future. But selling skins won’t stop now that it has started. Many games have Premium Battlepass and Skins, don’t know why Overwatch community cry about it so much. I play this game since 2016 too.

Other games definitely do it worse than Overwatch (like Valorant somehow always gets a free pass for having $100+ skin bundles, which you still have to pay more to unlock all the customisation, yet IGN will write a whole article about people getting annoyed over the $40 Overwatch bundles), but Overwatch wasn’t always like this. It’s jarring for OW1 players who were used to being able to obtain every skin without having to spend a single penny.

You made a post to try and validate how you spent money on the shop? Whoever is telling you something about that, you should probably listen to them. You are getting scammed and you are blind if you fail to see it. Spend your money however you want but if a 16 year old is smart enough to tell you not to buy it then maybe give it some thought at the very least? 20$ for a skin is beyond overpriced and only a fool regardless how much money you have would actually buy a skin.

People can spend their money how they like, but when you voluntarily allow yourself to be taken advantage of by greedy monetization, it will just encourage it’s use going forward. So, you know, people wont like that.

If you give them money they won’t fix it either so why bother? You are just throwing money into a fire.
Maybe the game deserves to die if the devs doesn’t care about their players.

I honestly don’t want some random guy on the internet telling my what I do does or doesn’t matter

Funny how i never see CS:GO (CS2) players cry about a 600€ skin for a single gun. They just simply spend it because it’s their free time hobby. Why has the Overwatch community to cry so much about everything? Is it overpriced for you? Simply don’t buy it. You jealous because it’s something you wanted but it’s too overpriced for your wallet? Admit it. Say you wanted it but can’t afford. But stop making excuses out of your head for the “overpricing” of cosmetics.
And believe me, it’s really low price compared to 90% of games today. Even GTA RP Servers sell single cloths like pants, jackets, etc, for 20€ or more each piece. Boy, even cars for over 100€, and still, people buy it. Accept games are like this nowadays.

I was boycotting them in ow2 but then I realized it doesn’t even matter if I do.

  1. I see people with paid cosemetics every game so clearly it doesn’t make a difference whether I boycott or not

  2. I don’t want them to see ow as being bad financially and give up on it

  3. It won’t kill my wallet to buy one cosmetic every 6+ months. I’ve only bought one battle pass and probably won’t buy one any time soon because I have enough free coins to buy one for free.

However, specifically buying something like the Moira skin, the first $40 skin, just tells them that they can continue to do that and profit.

Very oblivious message about how the money works in a publicly traded company.

I just do the challenges n save up… can get the Bp n skins that way without hurting the wallet lol

I assure you, What you do doesn’t matter. unless what your doing does matter, then it does. but for the most part, if you think it does, it doesnt. unless it doesnt of course.
Stop telling me how it does or doesnt matter and ill stop telling you if it does matter. because it does, regardless if it doesnt or not.

I honestly just want this game to stop trying to sell me a 70$ skin i already own.

I spent some money on blizzard as well, but at the very least, people should be aware what “voting with their wallet” mean. It doesn’t affect just you, it’s for everyone else.
All triple AAA games right now are money gouging because they know they can.

No.

You sound like a shill when you say these things.

I will not accept that games NEED to have monetization and NEED to constantly make more and more money like every other corporate interest.

I will constantly complain and point out that not only has supporting this model not improved games, it’s actively made them worse for the consumer.

Spending money = happy playerbase

Not spending money = unhappy playerbase

Buy what you want man but it honestly sounds like your copeing because deep down you know you’re getting scammed by blizz. Also the less money this game and the playerbase falling off the more incentive they have to work harder and actually make something out of their game just look at halo infinite or paladins

Spending money on this game will make things even worse tho) Pick your poison
