Not Motivated To Climb On Dps Anymore

Okay so imagine this scenario:
You start to queue for dps, it ends up being a 10 minute queue… yeah okay whatever atleast now you get to finally play but little did you know 10 seconds later someone leaves and the game gets cancelled, oh well it’s fine right we can queue again and so we wait another 10 minutes to play yeah great so you finally find a game again and it’s one of those not-great games that make you feel bad
it’s fine you say and you go for atleast 1 more game, you queue for 15 mins and finally find a game again but someone leaves so it gets canceled suddenly hours have passed and you’ve only played 1 game in total and it was terrible. I just want to play >.<

Ok, well we need more support and tank players so they will be happy to have you.

I wish I enjoyed those roles honestly

games getting cancelled is lame. 10 minute queue is bearable honestly but the constant cancelled games is super annoying.

As a support main, I have to say, this player clearly wants to play DPS and is willing to patiently wait in line.
It would only be fair if they actually got a game for their wait and not another leaver & cancellation nonsense.

Even I got irritated after four straight cancellations due to leavers and I queued as Support and Tank so every time I was in another game within minutes.

Can’t imagine what it must be like to do the same as DPS. I’d get a brain aneurysm or something.

I can only say, I’d penalize leaving WAY more harshly.

And to OP, I say, I hear you, and you’re right, it’s jarring, frustrating and just terrible.

Thank you for being empathetic  I love you

Well imagine this scenario:

everyone else is also queuing for DPS, that’s why you’re waiting for so long

That wasn’t the point though? if you have to wait so long (which is not the end of the world) but then have the game cancelled so you have to queue again is just terrible on top of that if those games you queued up for 20+ mins end up being terrible is it even worth it anymore?

Imagine this scenario: They idiotically imposed role queue so that everyone has to wait, regardless.

Then they started taking away hero choices once you do get into the game.

This keeps going on, it’s going to be “Training Dummy: the Simulator” for comp.

imagine another scenario: a large portion of people bought the game just to play DPS because all they see is “FPS” in the genre list

so 66% of the game is never touched by these people

Cool? I mean, that’s kind of what it’s there for. I had a lot more fun, even in the wild days of 4 instalock DPS, than I ever have with role queue. The flexibility is important, and 2-2-2 isn’t even the optimal comp.

I wouldn’t exactly call it “wild days”, they were more chaotic than wild. If you feel so inclined to relive that experience, it’s still there for you in the Arcade

Yeah, which is my preferred mode of play because it’s an actual Overwatch experience. Role queue is terrible, their balancing and reasons for it are terrible, and now bans are just making things worse.

There’s nothing about this that has improved the game.

Well then everything is working as intended. You can stay there, and not bother anyone else. Your needs are satisfied

No. It’s not working as intended. They’re driving the game into the ground and I intend to keep fighting that decline as long as I can, even if it means “bothering” you.

It’s not that you’re bothering me, but bothering other people who bought the game for its intended purpose. I want to say it’s an obvious purpose but even then, some people will never see it.

In all honesty, you could probably play FFA for the rest of your days and be just as happy with the game. Objectives are probably not at the top of your priority list. However the game was made on the premise that there are objectives which both teams need to fight over.

Blizzard failed in one tremendous aspect: labeling the game as an FPS. I wouldn’t even say that FPS is the most important aspect. It never was. That’s why Overwatch exists, because it was not designed to be a typical FPS game.

So why they chose to label it as a typical FPS game is beyond me. But we’re stuck with all the people who bought it for that very reason.

It’s so unbearable, this isn’t really on bliz but I was just playing a game and was doing really good as sym but in the last 10 seconds I lost connection -100 sr. Getting a good game as dps is so exciting but it’s just way easier to play tank or support now. It’ll take me a couple hours minimum to get that sr back. If it was my support rank I wouldn’t be so mad since I get into games so fast but with dps it’s so discouraging

Yeah? How is wanting role queue and hero bans gone somehow bothering people over playing the game for its intended purpose? The intended purpose of Overwatch was to play it. Play the heroes, which you get for free, across the roles, and be able to adjust your team and playstyle as needed every single game.

Don’t act like you know me or anything I want. It just makes you sound foolish, especially because I favor objectives over everything else. If this game was pure deathmatch I probably wouldn’t play it. I play objective-based games almost exclusively, and in Overwatch, the objective is more of an afterthought than anything. I’ve posted time and again how I want better map design with alternate routes, multi-layered objectives, and real strategy.

So yeah. You’d be 100% wrong in your ignorant assumptions.

Your point here contradicts itself. People buy the game to play heroes they want to play in its take on FPS gaming. No one bought the game hoping to have 10+ minute queues to play the hero they wanted, only to have a game canceled because someone left and have to do the thing all over again.

The game was a lot better without role queue, and the more people rail against queue and bans, the faster we get rid of them and get this game back to being a game, instead of a “waiting in line simulator.”

What is the intended purpose of any game? tO pLaY iT i gUeSs

Incredible. Sherlock Holmes deducing the impossible

So, you lack any concrete points and resort to ad hominem, the first and also last resort of the loser in any given argument.

I quite honestly didn’t think you had anything of substance to say, but I gave you a chance. You certainly showed us all what you’re worth.
