Do you not understand what happened? The reason the matchmaking is so bad is because there’s less people to play the game, so the algorithm to matchmake is extending to further ranks.
For example, let’s say you’re about Silver in SR/MMR. Instead of putting you in a game with Bronze/Silver/Gold, you’re getting put into games with Bronze all the way to Master since there’s less people around your rank.
Stop using this as an indicator. Quick games with terrible balancing doesn’t mean it has a huge playerbase. The game is dying. Their own financial’s state this. Stop coping.
Yes. This was Blizzard’s awful response to the 15+ minute queues of Overwatch. Your rating basically doesn’t mean anything any more, because you’ll queue into people of basically any rank. And if you preform well, the game even favors teaming you with the worst preformers. Hence why people have tanked so many divisions lately, because no matter how good you are, you can’t overcome the heavy weight on your team.
I agree, but you will see same game modes in some places die out. We already had that in the OCE in OW1.
Is OW2 going to die any time soon? not likely. is paying for constant access to the PvE games worth it in the OCE? hell no, because outside of the original push, there literally won’t be enough people queuing to get a game of it.
So in very real terms, parts of the game are dead, in parts of the world.
I can get a hamburger from McDonald’s in less than a minute. Doesn’t make it good. People who use que times as evidence that OW is healthy are missing the point. By a mile.
Also, anyone else notice how they quietly did away with the “if 1 team has console players both will” rule to make ques faster?
I know the cool thing to do on the forums is hop on whatever bandwagon there is, which lately has been the matchmaker, but would anyone really prefer having 5+ minute queues like we did in OW1? Nah.
Who are you trying to fool? Players have been pointing out how terrible the matchmaker is since late 2019. It keeps getting worse, so much so that many of the people who were able to tolerate it before are getting fed up with it. There is no sudden bandwagon. Role queue straight up doesn’t work, now years later there are hardly any players anywhere so every mode is suffering from bad matchmaking.
Your deflection might work on a fifth grader but not on anyone here.
Probably all those millions of players who quit and didn’t come back for RQ. Matchmaking was actually good from 2016 - early 2019 in both skill matching and queue times.
Meanwhile nobody but the bottom percentile of players are okay with silvers and masters playing in the same matches. Clown
The expected intelligence from someone that cannot refute how much more popular the game was back then. Next time champ, try forming a sound argument that can’t get blown away so easily.
