Not all hope is lost in stage 1

Update:

First playoff match Seoul - NYXL

Seoul rolls out on volskaya attack with antigoats (Tripple dps + hammond + ana&mercy)

They did not use this volskaya attack strategy during the whole of league play, but pulled it out on Volskaya against NYXL goats, to much success. They were able to dismantle NYXL goats pretty handedly, but barely lost out on the map by some insane overtime clutches by NYXL when NYXL was attacking.

I guess i was kinda right, despite apparently being wrong according to many

Lets hope there are more treats in store!

Yes, many matches seem confusing, with 4+ ults popping and colors splashing on the screen. Heck, many matches are flat out boring. We all know to well the composition that shalt not be named. (yes, we’ve seen some sorts of composition variations, but not alot)

But there is still a glimmer of hope for stage 1.

When the stage 1 playoffs takes place, and the big heavyweights go toe to toe, that’s when stuff will go down for real. There is a chance that the best teams have prepped superior and fine tuned tactics throughout league play to give them the edge in playoffs. Various comps and strats, well hid and tucked away until they’re really needed.

If we are lucky, some teams will throw the enemy a real curve ball in the playoffs. All i say is, look out for teams like NYXL.

Or maybe we are just doomed, and have to suffer through even more of that which shall not be named.

Anyways i like living in hope.

okay then, answer this question:

Why havent we seen this goats destroyer that you are talking about yet? the only logical thing to do with such a comp up your sleeve would be to use it throughout the stage. since you in your last thread talked about how much coordination and skill this mysterious comp needs, it wouldnt even be possible for the other teams to adapt against it or even mirror it before you have won atleast stage 1 and 2. the illogical thing to do would be waiting for stage playoffs, where they cant get as much value out of it as if they started with this comp in the stage

The solution is to give Chengdu a free pass to the playoffs.

A goats counter comp can be countered. it might not be something u wanna pull out in league play, if ur confident u will win the matches there anyway.

We will wait and see…

I never said that it couldnt. I said that it would take too much time for enemies to adapt, so it would be unstoppable until atleast stage 2.

Oh, im glad u know everything. I rest my case.

I said that the comp would be literally unstoppable until stage 2, so why not use it through all of stage 1? Im not saying that I know everything, I just use my logical reasoning.

At which point it would be useless.

Then its your logical reasoning against mine. I also wrote this more as a “glimmer of hope” situation, as stated.

So glhf! May the best forumer win.

2/20 teams can reasonably be said to reasonably expect to get away with sandbagging. Those two teams also benefit much more from playing the meta since it’s much easier to protect the Jjonak or Bumper than it is to bother countering. Spending the time to develop counter strats has a high opportunity cost. We’d only see it from teams that can’t hope to win the meta mirror, which means we would have seen it by now if there was one. And FWIW, we have, and it looked pretty bad.

Good luck. lets see if Im right, or if the teams surprise me and does something crazy. I will gladly admit defeat if Im wrong, and to be honest, I actually hope that you are right. Im just a bit of a pessimist sometimes

So does this count?

okay, you know what? Im gonna give it to you. you win. I cant even be mad, especially when the main tank for vancouver titans run hanzo in a quad dps comp lol
