People love to say Tracer should be allowed to be this strong because of high skill ceiling, or hard to play, or whatever. Sure, maybe to a degree, but not this strong. Tracer has been and still is my best dps hero since I woke up on the day of season 9. I AM NOT GOOD AT THE DAMAGE ROLE. Nerf me, I don’t deserve to be this impactful.

Tracer isnt op, she gets blown up shot by half the roster atm. She is a skill check, and nothing else.
If you or the lobbies you are in get diffed by one, simply aim better.

in the past yes but now she can recall for free under any situation. before you could hold corners that you know tracer likes to go through and rocket/primary melee her with characters like junk,pharah,mei,soldier,cass,torb and generally out skill her. Now she gets away for free and far to often im finding games where tracers have the lowest deaths finding immense value by simply cleaning up any kills and getting away scot free.
man i dont know why i feel like if widow didnt exist then tracer wouldn’t have to be so strong or sombra would have to be so oppressive. like i just have this head cannon that if widow wasnt in the game they would make sombra tracer both extreme low health glass cannons that cant do alot of damage but there has to be a dps counter to widow she lowkey gatekeeps the game in a way.

I will give you Soldier, but cass, junk, pharah, mei, and torb are all very low skill floor designed to be easy to play. Them not getting the value that a more mechanically demanding character like tracer is perfectly fine (though junk mei and torb all hard counter her). Sombra being oppressive is to deal with support not widow, and tracer/widow keep each other in check… look at the lore, they are rivals and even were when widow was a member of overwatch. It simply comes down to tracer being a skill check, if you cant kill her as torb, junk, or mei, then that is not a balance issue its a player issue.

tracer isnt to scared of mei anymore since headshot use to one shot tracer but not anymore (150 headshot but now tracer is 200… you would have to tap her twice.)
torb is good against tracer and is my main counter against tracer these days but still can be caught with your pants down if you dont have a turret up on a flank to take away her time.
Tracer is 175, and just headshot/melee or headshot/leftclick as mei, play around your traps as junk (make sure to keep them around your supports).
As far as us knowhing that in 2017… nobody knew anything about the game. Sure there was comp but it was an afterthought to the fun team based shooter that people seem to forget that OW1 was.
As far as my validity I’m a masters 1 player and coach 2 collegiate teams atm, I would be willing to coach you too but you would have to start listening to people rather that plugging your ears say “don’t care” then spewing information that isn’t true.
Tracer counters Junkrat as she can reactively dodge absolutely everything he does. If she catches him alone anywhere other than in a tiny room she kills him for free.
He can somewhat help his backline out against her but again she can dodge everything. The skill issue is the exact opposite of what you claimed.

Sorry, Junkrat ain’t low skill floor anymore lol. Tracer has higher pickrate and winrate in bronze… than Junkrat. Considerably higher winrate too.

if you’re genuinely gonna sit here and tell me “mei and junkrat counter the undisputed best dps in the game and has been for the past 8 seasons…” find a different gig mate.
She is one of the few heroes who have always been allowed to be good.

It appears as thought you havent kept up with the meta, shame. As far as my teams, theyre doing pretty okay rn.
Mei can headshot/left click if tracer is too far, and put your junk traps around your supports and bodyguard each other. You seem to be forgetting its a team game, not a solo game. Youre complaining about taking 1v1s with THE 1v1 char, its literally a player issue.
It appears you think your memory of your limited anecdotal experience in-game is the be-all-end-all. It’s not. Junkrat is not even close to being meta.
I never said he was meta, but he is a tracer counter if you play as a body guard for your supports and play around trap.

And my limited experience in-game is about 900 hours of OW2 and about 6000 of OW1
Any Tracer that gets “countered” by any Junkrat is bad.

Anyone that loses a 2v1 against a tracer with a support with them is worse. Again you arent responding with the full context of what im saying. An equally skilled play on any other character(excluding tank) will lose a 1v1 with tracer. She is designed to capitolized on out of position, and unprotected people. If you disagree with this then there is no hope in reasoning with you. Im not saying the junk is THE or THE BEST tracer counter, in fact hes one of the worse one, but if you use his kit right he can absolutely counter her.
Okay so your argument is that some bad teams letting Tracer be by herself all the time means Junkrat is okay sometimes.

My guy its a game full of nieches, look outside of the meta. Is sym bad? NO, shes just niche to her few maps. Just like junk is niche to a few team comps, but he can counter her if the niche calls for it. It isnt “some bad teams” its “THE bad team”, tracer in context of team play isnt opressive. In team play (OWL for example) she was played to follow up with hard dive and in that context she isnt a menace of the lobby going out to 1v1 all the split people. You arent trying to understand, youre just trying to argue and be mad.
