how can one character require “no-skill” but another who’s major plays are almost identical to each other be considered a skilled hero.
I’ll be using Reinhardt and Brigitte as an example. since they both have simular attack range (5 meters) and have a long range aim based attack (fire strike and rocket flail) they both have a stun (charge and shield bash) let’s take a look at a typical POTG of both heroes
they both play out about the same Block then melle swings block short charge/bash melle swings. Aim is not the skill these characters require it is positioning, engagements. reacting to your surroundings and target priority. all of which require time and practice. arguably more so then practicing aiming.
When you call heroes like brigitte or moira no skill heroes then ur basicly calling every hero in the game no skill. Please stop this.
let me clear this up. I can play about 20 different heroes and keep my accuracy above 40% on all of them. while others i keep closer to 65%. But that doesn’t matter each character requires a different level of skills in various game senses. as one game sense is lessed used another is usually required more to make up for it. in Reinhardt’s case Positioning and making space.
Brig isn’t a priority target like Rein (any DPS will gladly lay in to a Rein who’s shield is down. I play enough McCree to vouch for this).
Brig is infinitely faster than Rein too, her attack is faster, it heals the team, she can stun (without having to charge) and she can shield if a DPS goes on the offensive.
You’re comparing apples with oranges. Yes they attack similar but the roles are dramatically different.
For the billionth time, every character requires this…
It’s that some of these characters require less of it, while they also dont require entire skillsets that others do. You can get away with a LOOOOOT more as Brigitte than you can as McCree.
Just because these characters have more emphasis on positioning (Because they dont have many other things to worry about) doesn’t mean that they require more of it than other characters. You can get away with a LOT as both of these characters. Things a McCree or Soldier can’t get away with, while they DO need to aim.
Whoa there. Brigitte is the higher priority target than Reinhardt by FAR. She snowballs too hard when left alone. Having access to a burst combination every 6 seconds that is nearly impossible to block when she is in range and helps remove 200 hp heroes and a low cooldown +150 hp burst healing to save allies is also helpful. No, you want Brigitte dead as fast as you can because she’s a support character. Always remove support players and the sustain they bring first.
A character like reinhardt is high priority certainly, but I argue you want that Brigitte dead faster.
It is funny to see that you chose this moment (overtime on the payload ) and to call this the typical play of the game. We are going to try to forget all the shatter who change your game and believe that what you says is true …
your missing the point. of the post. every hero has a set of skills u need have an understanding of to even effectively use them. i just used brigitte and rein as examples. I could do the same for Zen and ana. and show the differences and simularities.
I can show you the difference between tying your shoes and Velcro and come up with false reasons why Velcro is just as hard as tying your shoes.
Every hero requires skill, but some a lot more than others. Why is this so hard to accept for people?
People will never complain about those who do the thankless work (but sometime you will annoy somone with your “brainless” hero who didn’t deserve the potg
The idea is that Reinhardt is more difficult to play than Brigitte because he has more precise positioning. Rein is more difficult because of his playstyle, and the fact that he doesn’t have multiple safety nets, like Moira and Brigitte, means that he is harder to play. Winston requires no aiming skill either, and he’s one of the hardest characters in the game to play correctly.
Rein needs to think about his whole team. Any time Rein decides to go for it, he risks getting his whole team killed if he misjudged. Everything he does, sometimes even choosing to stand and hold ground, is high risk.
Brig doesn’t have to think about anything but her next meal.
I get what your saying, and I agree that Mercy isn’t as brainless as a lot of people say, but Mercy has more safety nets than Rein does and more options to get herself out of a bad situation. There’s more room for error when you are playing Mercy.
Reinhardt is a Tank with no self-sustain and a giant hitbox with the onus being on him to create space for his team and to initiate or back down from engagements properly.
These are two completely different characters with completely different roles to fill and completely different methodology to combat. It’s like saying Reaper and Tracer are the same because they fight in close quarters.
I always has find winston an amusing hero.He is at the same time very hard but also very simple .The major factor of his success being the coordination and communication with your team
