I just got to diamond and playing against Widows make the game unbearable. The kills she gets are so cheap and she is so hard to counter. Most games are clearly decided within the first couple minutes when I’ve played against her and I just have to sit and endure it all the way to the end because you’re not allowed to forfeit. OW would be a better game without her tbh. I know that would hurt the people that like to use her but its just the truth
I disagree here. Map or level design can make or break really great game design depending on what you design the game on. Look at Titanfall’s map design vs Overwatch’s. Titanfall’s map designs are designed to meld well with the gameplay loop. However, Overwatch’s tends to ignore the gameplay loop in favor of the appearance of the maps lol.

might wanna go and watch this weeks OWL… Sombras got absolutely destroyed by Widows. Widows don’t just sit alone, they sit with protection. Opening on the Widow as Sombra just got you either flicked or you fed ult to the widow and at least 1 of the supports against you. It was an automatical;ly lost situation to the extent that none of the Sombras even tried to touch the Widow. The only times it happened was a double dive Genji and Sombra vs ONE WIDOW and the Widow won the 1v2. It never happened again the entire weekend because it’s simply not worth it.

Well then the team isnt coordinating enough it is 5v5 if you cant find an opening then that is because your team isnt doing anything meaningful… Not to mention OWL is trash, not watching it everyone with character either got the boot or moved on…
No. Sombra got destroyed by ONE widow on Junkertown and that’s because Hydron is a freak.
99.99999999% of widows will never pull off something like that or even come close. But damn that was an insane shot.

Cause the cycle ends there. Normally, it goes like:
To counter A, go B. To counter B, go C. Etc. But when the “counter” is a mirror, it just turns into “which team has the better widow?”
That’s no fun.
Has anyone tried not standing out in the open? Maybe not standing in Widow’s line of sight? Or is everyone a mindless drone that does exactly what they see on Twitch?
I mean, I think he’s right in asking why mirrors don’t count as counters. They can and do in the case of Widow. The problem he’s focused is that specific word when I think LuckyDucky should be looking more at the variety of counter play. Having only two options (ball and widow) with one of which being a mirror is just incredibly lame.
I mentioned that there is a map design issue in OW2. However, you can’t nerf widow to fix bad map design; that’d be an awful idea.
To be fair, I was being hyperbolic. There’s people who tell me they understand my point, and even think its a valid one. However, there’s also people who straight up tell me I’m lying, like actually being deceitful or delusional, to spread pro widow propaganda. For example, you tell me here:

You tell me how accepting different opinions would solve the issue of people saying “you disagree with me, so therefore you’re being dishonest”. Please do. Keep in mind, these aren’t the only comments I get like that, and for the most part I let it slide because they aren’t whole paragraphs that completely ignore my point and accuse me of bad actions.
For my part, I believe I accept people’s opinions for what they are unless they say something factually wrong, or something I believe to be wrong. I try to be fair with this by saying “If you think I’m wrong, tell me how”. An example is when people say “Widow shouldn’t counter widow”, and so I say “Snipers inherently counter snipers. Tell me how you can change that without making snipers immune to snipers”.
Some people read that, and go “How dishonest!”, and I’m legitimately sat there confused.
At its core, I think the issue isn’t on me. I think the issue is some people going “He’s defending widow. How can he do this? There must be something ulterior going on.”, and I can’t help that.
Edit: Oh, and one of the earliest comments I responded to said “Widow doesn’t count as a counter” or something. After I responded with “yes, she does”, people replied to me “No one’s saying widow doesn’t count as a counter”. What is that? Gaslighting or something?
I have the SOLUTION!
Give symettra her shield gen back and make it give 125 heath and torb his armor pack back granting 80 armor. Therefor widow can stay the same but cant 1 shot people anymore. Its a win win!
Bro they get paid to play the game, i’m sure they’re communicating and communicating their dives. You’re not above their levels of play… If you were, you’d be being paid to play, not them.
There are good plays and bad plays, like i said i don’t watch owl, if widow is the problem which tank was selected cause i know i would pick something with decent barrier like rein. Playing angles heavily… with rein would prolly utilize ana, mei is also good to manuver the map with wall withput being caught opened

This. Making an argument that something works or doesn’t work based on OWL matches is an incorrect assumption.
These people play in “a league of their own”, as I like to call it.
Some of them are leagues above standard GM players, while there are a few teams that got so used to playing in this specially selected league that they probably wouldn’t last against a team comprised of Top500 players.
At any rate it’s not a good way to measure the state of heroes.
Wasn’t there like a Tank player last season (I think it was either Danteh or Coluge, maybe Hadi) that swapped and stayed Roadhog on Oasis City Center and just couldn’t get beaten, winning the round easily? Who would normally do such a thing in those ranks?
They laughed from it in the studio, admitting that the swap was made becuase no one expects this, so no one practiced how to counter it.
I wasn’t following this weekend. Why doesn’t Winston work anymore? It used to be so that he was the default pick to keep her in check in most games.
Shooo shooo we have given sym enough keep asking we may start taking back.
Except all barriers were nerfed. Rein used to be 1600 health and regen of 200 per second now its 1200 and regen of 144 per second. That along with there only being 1 tank to focus makes it so barriers go down much faster then in OW1. 2 shield meta became a thing because of snipers in OW1 however that was removed by going down to 1 tank. Having a Dive tank and a Main tank were essential to keeping snipers in check back in OW1 however once again because of moving to 1 tank Snipers got a Major soft buff and now are slowing becoming problems.
I fully understand Sym will never go back and i accept that, but i reserve my right to complain still.
