No reason to hide ranks

career profiles I get, but there’s no reason at all to not show a teams current rank in their role

unless there’s something to hide of course

It doesn’t make sense, everyone has their own rank. If you see that your team has 1000 or 4000, it will not improve your game.

Oh my god… your usernames… They go so good together…

‘Oh, we got silver 3 in gold lobby… GG, I just practice Widow and don’t care since it is a lost anyway…’

There is your reason to hide it.

my point is they’re hiding it to cover up their botched matchmaking. it’s not to battle toxicity

Present your evidence to support this hypothesis.

you think it’s a coincidence? if they wanted to battle toxicity they’d have made the change in the first one.

the matchmaking is notoriously bad, the community knows it and blizzard knows it but don’t want to fix it, so the easier option is to just simply hide it

league shows the ranks
its the only reason rank
to show off

First one of what? Can you be a bit more clear?

I seriously do not see it…

But this is basically anecdote versus anecdote…

If you claim knowledge you can support that with actual good evidence.

If you know it you can show it. If you can’t show it you can’t know it…

And if you claim knowledge, but you cannot show it you are simply lying.

‘I believe it is an established maxim in morals that he who makes an assertion without knowing whether it is true or false, is guilty of falsehood and the accidental truth of the assertion, does not justify or excuse him.’ - Abraham Lincoln

And you can, by making your profile public…

your evidence is this entire forum. there’s more than enough smoke to know there’s a fire somewhere.

getting diamond players in your gold lobbies and vice versa isn’t a good way to matchmake a ranked mode.

Collection of anecdotes does not amount to good evidence…

And how would you know they are diamond if ranks are hidden?

Plus Diamond player can queue up with gold player… So it is possible to get diamond in gold lobby

some people have their profiles open and you’re able to see their rank and some have titles equipped with their rank on it too

And you know that people can be diamond on support and have the title for that, but gold on damage and end up fairly in a gold lobby as a damage role?

Maybe not put two separate ranks together?

diamond in any role means you will have superior knowledge and gamesense to those who are purely gold across the board

If S3 is on a massive win streak MMR will adjust really fast…

For example, they started on B3…

Went 5-1 and then they were B1. After that they went 5-0 and now are S3. Then they went 4-0. Their MMR could be gold at this point. You want them still competing against silvers? I thought people do not like smurfs here…

And yet, they are hardstuck in gold as damage… Those things tend to happen, especially that each role require different skill set. There is some overlap, but there are also role specific skills that you need to learn.

It is not that black and white as you want to paint it.

what makes you think they’re hardstuck?

It was just an example…

They could just be ranking up, since they never played damage on this acc…

Bottom line is, they could be legitimately there.

I want to go against diamonds, if I’m in diamond rank. None of this hidden metric crap, face value matchmaker is what we need.

So you want to make smurfing even easier now?

Got it.
