It’s such a problem for a team communication based game that people have the option not to join voice. Going up the ranks only shows me how much less people talk in masters than any rank LOL. Every game i play its me and 1 person in vc. Dont care if you’re scared of people being toxic atleast be there to listen to people call stuff out and maybe be useful and call something out themselves. Instead people never join voice, never talk, decide to type instead of join vc for whatever reason. Force people into the team chat, just anything :]. If people are scared of people being toxic, there is a mute button for a reason. You can mute that person and problem solved.
If they forced me into team chat I would quit. I cannot think of anything worse.
i would prefer you uninstall then you being on my team and not in vc so we good
I’m in diamond which is the top 10% of comp players, so probably the top 5% of players overall. Comms are not needed in this game, they are massively overrated.
LOL you’re a funny guy. Comms aren’t needed in a team based game.
Well they’re not, I’m playing better than 95% of people and aren’t using them? Anything you need to know or communicate the game does for you already through voice lines and sound effects.
I would prefer to to have them, you can leave if you want.
maybe people dont have time to look at chat in the middle of a fight and maybe your team would do better as a team if you called targets or said someone flanking or something :] lets take comms out of owl.
i aint about to be called the most horrendous slurs that i have never heard of before thank you
not sure how many times ive heard slurs in ow specifically but as long as my tm8 is in voice atleast listening to everyone else we good
overwatch is a game about commutation. He is completely right on this in my opinion, if you’re playing rank, (especially in higher elo diamond+) you need comms, if you’re not at least listening to people your basically throwing to be honest, I don’t care what role you play, you will win way more games and climb way faster if you just listen to your team and follow them. its basic knowledge. the game does have its poll of toxic players, but there is a mute button for a reason!
not joining voice is probably how they got to masters, nobody hears their voice and decides they don’t like them and won’t let them climb. or they are focusing on their game not opinions of ppl micromanaging.
they’re literally not, though.
I don’t care what you think, I’m not joining VC, and you can’t make me. Fix your toxic online culture and I’ll think about it.
mute button exists, mute the toxic 1 listen to the rest of the team. you’re also acting like toxicity isn’t in every game and to be honest ow isnt that bad compared to many others :]
It’s not just OW, it’s gaming in general. Back on PC in the 90s and later when online console multiplayer were in more and more house holds, people used to chat all the time, make friends, join party chats, etc. I had so many online friends I made playing Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast, people I never met in my life, yet we would all meet up on certain servers every weekend to play.
Somewhere with the next generation of gamers they all just are terrified of any online chat interaction. I feel there’s a correlation to that as well as younger people not being able to even make/answer a phone call. I’m 36, I’m not some late 40’s Gen X’er, I just don’t know at what point it all took a turn and nobody can be friendly on multiplayer games any more. There’s a few good Youtube videos that discuss the subject.
Can’t wait to share my thrash metal playlist with y’all
would prefer that cause atleast you can hear when someone calls a flank or something stupid woop
Okay, but if I told you that I do not care that you do not care and that ultimately you just need to deal with it because you are the one crying about it, not me?
Sorry, this just seems like a bad take. You cannot force people to listen no matter what you do. Nor do you even need to chat in order to climb up the ranks. Is it nice? Yes. Is it necessary to the point that it should be forced? Heck no it’s not.
