I just quit playing comp mode entirely after being 100% comp player for years.
Quick play has faster queues and faster games.
Comp has people switching more to try and win.
Quick play wins out. Especially because of the faster games. I don’t need 6 matches to determine the outcome of one game.

There is no point, console top 500 is full of cheating ximmers. A temporary title as a reward every season is pointless to me, I already have all the golden guns in the game and still have enough points for the next 2-3 heroes. On the pc it’s not that different, instead of ximmers you gotta deal with actual hackers with aimbots. Whats worse is the game is free to play so it’s impossible to truly ban them. Comp is a joke and unless blizzard actually tackles the real problem, no amount of changes is going to make me want to keep playing comp.

Exactly, but a lot of players love to be gaslit and live in their own fantasy bubble where cheaters are as rare as unicorns. In reality the active player population is low, high ranked players have multiple smurfs cough alts, and there are lots of subtle cheaters that most people won’t spot unless there’s some egregious rage hack going on.

Same here. I am tired of KSA players who can’t live without perma double-pocket and only play Echo, Sojourn, and Pharah (most are simping for you know who). 90 percent of them make ten mistakes per minute that need to be erased and if they play tank they turbo feed like they’re in Silver, except they’re somehow 4-5 skill tiers above that.

I’ll take your word for it, OP. I played Comp for the first two weeks to avoid Mauga in QP, and after that I’ve moved back to QP since most of the Maugas seemed to emigrate over to Comp in order to get free SR a more competitive experience.

Qp warrior since halfway through season 6.
Best decision i’ve made playing this game. Faster que times, faster games, far more enjoyable games. Like there is less switching and at the same time more variety.
Grinding for a stupid temp title and a shiny gun just isn’t worth the headache in my eyes.

Yeah qs are ridiculous right now. Judging from twich/steam numbers it seems at least 4-5k regular players have stopped playing since Mauga was released (research done during 10min q).
Mauga def stopped me playing for a few weeks. Felt like if you didn’t play Ana/Bap/Kiri in a Mauga matchup, you lost. I’m a Brig/Lucio lol

The reason QP feels better overall is the low stakes nature coupled with the fact that the vast majority of the playerbase is playing that mode. Competitive is miserable because the devs don’t actually care about it…so the drought continues.

Hmm I’d guess less than 25% of the playerbase regularly plays ranked. Even 25% might be a bit high.
Agreed, I had personal reasons too. Some I mentioned.
Variety in gameplay is a huge one for me. Love trying to new heroes and different team comps. Comp felt so stale and repetitive.
Having no stake in the game is big too of course. Comp was so toxic far too often in my experiences.
People can say qp has gotten toxic too. Not even comparable at all to comp in my experience. So much worse there, not even close.

I just need some sort of QP+ that has better matchmaking and I’m golden. I’d settle for the devs tightening up OQ QP’s matchmaker since it’s not going to happen for RQ QP.

Yes I see this mentioned quite often.
I can only imagine if you’re high elo, like mid-masters+, it could feel like youre smurfing in a lot of qp lobbies you get thrown into. Not great I would imagine.
I only ever got to high plat, so matchmaking hasn’t thrown me under the bus too too often. I think? Yeah i think haha 
I’ve seen servers issues
Many many leavers joining back and people in the chat asking if they’re the only ones lagging (they’re not lol)
So I think they’re also avoiding losing games for free
