I get that everyone is already busy being pissed about the entire actual reason for OW2 being cancelled, but can we also take a moment to appreciate how Blizzard has already failed to keep the “Every Season will have either a new character or new map!” promise.
Like, seriously. 7 months in and they already failed to keep the promise of delivering the absolute minimum. What’s up with that?
Also, is anyone else feeling like 3 heroes a year is turning out to be way too few. Especially because if a new hero is an absolute bust like Lifeweaver is. It genuinely feels like Lifeweaver’s addition added nothing to the game/meta and like he “didn’t count.” So we’re left to wait several months again for a chance at a decent new hero.
I feel like with PVE cancelled, you’d think they could afford to do even just four heroes a year. That would certainly be better.
Just been feeling like even the PVP content has been stale and lacking meaningful development / inclusions
Looks like they’re putting (and saving) all their chips on season 6. New hero, new maps, new game mode, PvE (lite), etc… I can see season 5 being pretty quiet as you say but probably with a mercy mythic in the battlepass just to boost that fomo. Problem is that whilst S6 will probably be quite exciting, I really doubt they’ll even come close to replicating that in season 7, 8 or 9 but hope I’m wrong.
At this point I dont think they can afford s5 to be quiet
OW2 was cancelled? If it was cancelled what on earth are we playing?
The hero releases for OW have always been too slow. In fact, in part because OW1 was recycled from a cancelled game and in fact never intended to release much or any content at all. It was originally going to be like TF2. That was why holiday events and stuff were recycled with the content for them just being the skins. I really hopped we’d see the speed of releases increase. More akin to season 2 of League of Legends, which brought new heroes every 2 weeks.
I knew it, I said myself that they will stick to the update promises for a while, then they’ll skip a hero or a map or w/e and it will just snowball from there.
keep in mind season 6 is coming with both a new hero, and flash point. Which in it’s self is a new QP/comp game mode. With multiple maps released with it. (At least three if Push is to go by)
That and story mode, and whatever the single player hero mastery mission are.
So were getting a content dump the season after the fact.
