No need to wonder why so few tanks

It’s sad how often you play tank, you need heals more than everyone else, but while your team is wiping 5x as much, your ‘healer’ is doing just as much or more DPS as heals, while your team easily has enough dps w/out healers dpsing to win - if healers would just massively heal most of the time.

And hence more tanks give up on being the one to die a ton b/c healers would rather throw the game by dpsing as much if not more than healing.

If you’re winning (and hence healing is not as crucial that match), who cares.

If you’re wiping, the healer is now THROWING by refusing to heal more than they dps.

Rather than deal with people who throw, or making support toons less viable at dps,
bliz eliminates 6vs6, makes sure MORE healing toons can be just as deadly dpsing, that hence more healers will choose to dps more than heal, and hence more tanks won’t even bother.

ive played s76 a couple of times recently only to marvel at how fast things including tanks die to him (when not armored)

in a tank (hampter) main at heart and i dont understand why people say they cant kill anything and that tanks are raidbosses when one of them can shred my health in 3-4 seconds alone, so imagine more than one

They are called SUPPORT! Not heal bots

Support have to do damage as well…

Nobody likes being a scapegoated punching bag, those tank mains you see who say they do are lying to your face…

I should know… I’m one of them.

The two most common things that supports hear:

  1. You’re just a no skill healbot
  2. You aren’t healing enough

But seriously, I made the mistake of watching a Samito stream earlier on and all he does is cry that tanks are unkillable and that DPS can’t secure a kill (he says that as he as a DPS player gets a triple kill and gets out Scot free)

He makes it really hard to stay on his side in the 6v6 5v5 civil war, why does our main popular cc representative act like a petulant spoiled baby…

Sam has been angry with Blizzard for a while now, and I would say it is justified.

Besides, every voice who speaks for 6v6 is appreciated.

There is justified criticism and then there is blowing a gasket every time you are killed by a non DPS hero and then comparing actual humans to animals.

Sam needs to take a break from this game yesterday, we need his mental to be fully intact so he can better defend the glory of 6v6.

He will, once Marvel Rivals releases. But he did say he will cover the official 6v6 tests, so if Blizzard could release them that would be great.

I saw his qualification stream and he really played poorly, rushed in and died multiple times to simply being outnumbered, complaining that suzu makes someone invulnerable for a 0.85 seconds while playing Venture…who can go invulnerable for long periods of time.

My favorite part was when he was raging at an Ana on his team, even reported them, then when he reviewed the match, Ana was doing just fine, so he doubled down on scoreboard rage.

As a matter of fact, his babyrage went through the roof when he died because he was on the wrong side of a symmettra shield.

Then, he had a patch notes video where all he did was yell and get indignant, without any substantive discussion ofvthe changes, how they work together or whatnot.

He appears to believe that if he isn’t able to decide that spmeone should die, and can’t make it happen alone, then a grave injustice has occurred. The guy endlessly whines about supports making it so no one dies… except of course…his supports … who he literally REPORTED while streaming… somehow can’t keep their team up simply by existing, with hands on hips, big puffed out chest and a smile with teeth so perfect that a sparkle happens before they wink and go “I just happen to be…a hero”, and get back into the game,…

Samito’s audience are pimplefarmers and pre-teen males, that’s why he acts like he does.

Garbage in, garbage out.

I enjoy being a scapegoat punching bag because I would rather feel pain than nothing at all. I am not lying. If I did not love it, I would have surely given up. And yet I keep coming back for more. The only lie was when I pretended I had any self respect to begin with. That is clearly false. Please punish me!

I also made the mistake of watching Samito recently. Honestly, I just can’t with him. I don’t even care if he’s right or wrong. It almost doesn’t even matter. I can’t stand the constant negativity and the way he speaks about/to the devs. I don’t know how he expects them to take him seriously with how he rants about them. I wouldn’t.

Spilo made a good Twitter post that kinda sums up my thoughts here.

I am not going to lie, I am genuinely worried about him at the moment. Homie is going to give himself a heart attack. I am not sure if he is just playing this up for content or not, but I had to stop watching because it was making me feel uncomfortable. Hope he is okay and it is just an act…

Same actually. I watched him looking at the patch, which I know isn’t perfect but honestly I didn’t think was bad.

He first complained that D.Va didn’t get a sledgehammer nerf, which no reasonable person was expecting. Then he complained about Orisa buff despite her being kinda weak. Then he complained about tanks in general not getting nerfs other than D.Va when he saw the Zarya buff.

Then he absolutely lost it when he saw Echo nerfed because that’s one of his mains. Then he lost it again at Hanzo. There were actual tears. And I actually think Hanzo is doing better this patch ironically. I’m seeing more of him than before.

He was super upset about Illari not getting nerfed more and wasn’t happy Bap wasn’t nerfed either.

He was really upset about Juno and I actually think he’s right here just he wasn’t coherent about it. And then proceeded to get mad about every support nerf not being enough.

During all this there was a lot of profanity, walking off stage, screaming obscenities at the devs, calling for them to be fired. Like it was totally unhinged. After that I turned it off.

I saw a clip of him on Twitter today screaming about Widow and cursing the devs out again with a tirade that would make a sailor blush. Like I agree with you. I think he might legitimately need some help of the professional kind.

Its the same with Metro, i acrually find him quite entertaining sometimes but others its like listening to a whiney toddler crying.

The issue with tank is yes on papaer its strong and should easily won 1v1s against non-tanks but thats because THEYRE A TANK SHOCKER, the community has been tuned to act like OW isnt a team game anymore, its a bunch of solo players doing their own things and now theres a hero that requires team coordination to kill and people lose their minds. Yet as op aludes to tanks are useless without the right support.

And this is why I always say if you aren’t satisfied with the game and are constantly complaining, find something else you’re happy with. That goes for everything in life.

It’s really weird to see players talking so bad about the devs regardless of how many poor choices they make. Sure criticize the design decisions. But when players get nasty, it’s time to hang it up and move on.

We each have an idea of how we want this game to be. And all ideas are different from player to player, including the devs.

For a few creators this is litterally thier brand and how they make their money, OW has been out for do long theres only do much different content they can make, so instead they just rant and rage bsit because negativity sells

tell me youre bad without telling me

Yes, because they can HEAL. If they couldn’t heal, they’d be called DPS.
So if you pick a SUPPORT, then stop playing them like a DPS when someone else would have done their job and healed and the team win.

Winning team:
Healer 1 10k heal 1k dps
Healer 2 12k heal 1k dps

Losing team:
Healer 1 4k heal 7k dps
Healer 2 3k heal 8k dps

They are SUPPORT not DPS. To play a SUPPORT as a DPS while your team is wiping over and over should get you banned as that’s blatantly throwing the match because you’d rather play DPS.
