No offense, but I honestly think this game should have no more chat. This fanbase deserves it (And I mean this in no cynical way). They are mostly rude, create a horrid experience way more than half the time and honestly, I can’t take it. They constantly justify them being horrible people because the internet somehow controls their actions that they refuse to be accountable for. I hear ‘grow a skin’ from most of these people who I honestly believe are probably more spoiled than they could ever believe.
My real life has been a living hell since birth and I’ve probably suffered things that most of this community could never imagine, yet they have the nerve to tell me to grow a skin because I’ve learned a bit of compassion and they don’t know what it is to suffer? I can’t take that and something needs to be done.
I honestly think this game should be muted. The emote should be fully implemented as a communication device that becomes a part of the game. This fanbase has proven time and time again, that it cannot hold it’s tongue. Even when I meet smurf players, they tell me that they “hide chat and don’t even bother with team chat”.
I’m tired of hearing excuses from these people for why they can justify being rotten because their justification is that bandwagoning is always true and they never want to improve as a person. I know people are thinking “But this game is communication based! You NEED to talk!” but if you do make this happen, they should have thought about that before acting the way they have. Reporting to me, just isn’t enough at this point.
There have been points where I’ve actually been grateful that I’ve been muted. I think I’ll leave it on that. Honestly, if I could be permanently muted in this game, I would actually be happier. And that’s because I know the risk of me losing my account to some person who’s gonna 100% harass me in the next few seconds, won’t get me screwed.

Why don’t you just turn off voice chat every game and ignore the text chat instead of removing it from everyone?

Because, I’ll just have to do that every single time. The fact that they have a macro for the command sucks enough as it is. And all I have to do to stop the hide from voice chat? Press enter and bam, prepare for a verbal beat down. Not only that, but no offense, can you talk to me and tell me that you haven’t been extremely toxic at some point in this game or that someone hasn’t been to you?
Enough is enough.

I feel the changes you’re recommending would only be enjoyed by you and very few others, and not by everyone in the community. You say “I’ll just have to do that every single time”, but so what? That is actually a solution.

I would say instead of adding a “No” and “Thanks!” button mabey do what a Vr game that I play does, You haft to have a mic in order to play a match, since it is a team game. But I alredy know, People will be so danm toxic with that.

Turn off voice channels and you’ll never have to mute anyone. Type /hidechat a single time when you logon and it will keep all text chats hidden for the entire session.

This game has some weird policies. Squelch chat. I get where it came from and it’s history, but it serves no purpose in this game than for someone to harass you and revoke your permission to speak while doing so.

Not enough. I’m not gonna keep doing that over and over and over and over and over again. I’m sorry, but no. Screw that. If it’s off, then they’ll never have a reason to yell about it again.
Should be a toggle option in options though.

I didn’t even know these two things were a thing. This definitely sounds like the best solution to the problem you’re having, Cosmic.
It really isn’t, trust me… I knew it was an option and it STILL wasn’t a good one. If you press enter once, the messages show again. No warning. And you know what else? You have to do it EVERY match. You can’t just go into options and keep it permanent.

I like to compete. I just don’t like living the nightmare of this verbal and even textual harassment. Even the nice people in this game aren’t nice. I also like to challenge myself with aiming and such. To no offense. I hear console’s just easier.

You say that, but manually leaving voice chat each time is a better solution then expecting Blizzard to change the entire game removing this feature for everyone because you’re unwilling to do this action repeatedly.

Dude I’m sorry but this game is clearly not for you. You seem like you’re just looking for every possible reason to hate the game. If you want a permanent opt out of comms sure but it’s something many people use.

I don’t hate the game. I just hate the decisions made within this game. You can say what you want, but you haven’t really made any points yourself and have been directing all of your attacks at me.
While PC might take more skill and I know it does, Console is HELL mainly because blizzard cant do too much. Ps4 everyone has 100s of smurfs, one gets band? who cares right? they will throw and ruin games becuase they dont enjoy it anymore

You’ve made at least 3 different posts today complaining about very core parts of the game at length. If you don’t like those features or aspects of it then it’s just not the game for you.
So because you’re too lazy to disable team chat every game, everyone else should lose chat privileges? Did I get that right?
