No, i don’t want stuff for “free”

You are making baseless assumptions pls dont lol

You are correct that they will make more money but f2p model brings a LOT of content when youre looking at other games in the genre

I hate this free crap. F2P, battle passes, MTX’s have made me fall out so hard with modern multiplayer games. The golden years of multiplayer gaming were the 6th and 7th console generations. Never thought I’d ever want to go back to the days of paid map packs/expansions tbh.
Everything nowadays just releases so bare bones, cluttered ui’s pestering you to spend more money, and the yearly drip feed of content to keep you “engaged”.

I miss when cosmetics were locked behind in game achievements.

It’s sad to think how we didn’t know how good we had it back then. I never imagined it would get so bad in the future.

i have to agree. investing into a game and only getting two recolors with a hat feels insulting. It almost would’ve been better getting nothing at this point.

Izzy has been consumed by depression

Its important to remember that it’s just a video game

It’s bad. OW1 was the exception for me but it’s so hard to get into modern multiplayer games compared to the dozens I still enjoyed from the 2000’s-early 2010’s. All of twitch’s top games are just crap imo.

OW’s lootboxes were some of the least intrusive monetizations ever made.

It was always shocking to me that it was still out there in a world of buying keys for random chances to get stuff.

I guess it was nice while it lasted.

content that solely exists to pull yet more money out of your pockets…

rocket league went f2p…zero improvements to the game…grindy as all hell…it used to be decently hard to get items…but they were at least usable…i have like 500 items right now in game…none of which are usable cause it costs like 10-20$ to use any of them…

fall guys is about to go f2p…you should go check out their announcement and reactions to it…because its even more overtly predatory…and so far next to no indication that nothing outside of this monetization change is actually changing anything about the actual game…ie - what content?

diablo immortal is a f2p game…and its…nvm…EVERYBODY already knows…

Honestly, this is my only problem with battlepasses. If I pay for it, I should just unlock all the stuff right away, I shouldn’t also have to grind.

It should be one or the other. I either grind and get the stuff for free, paying with my time, or I pay with my money and get the stuff immediately because I lack time.

That is literally all content in any video game

I want free stuff. Unless I get the next 5 mythical skins for free then the Rat will be done. :hamster: :bomb:
Jokes aside I hope new heroes nor the PvE will be tied behind locks or battlepass.
I hope they consider a purchase unlock that gives access to future PvE missions if they decide to monetize that content.

with regard to grinds (which i did mention as a downside up top)…one of the things i liked about OW’s lootbox system is that while it could be a grind to get stuff…especially with rng…if you really wanted to you could circumvent all that if you just bought stuff…either directly or by just buying the boxes themselves

spending money was always an available OPTION which many still use…not everyone can grind

even the tiny bps the game had (which were free) were an issue for some people…

There is a huge difference between a game and it’s systems being meant to be enjoyable enough to warrant purchase or subscription, and a game being made to extract as much money out of it’s users as possible.

THIS.

This is why so many will bail on this franchise and the Battle Pass. They’ve shown us for three years that they aren’t committed to content or balance.

And newsflash, it wasn’t because the multi-million dollar corporation didn’t have funding to do it.

These are actually the same thing

You cant make as much money as possible without it being enjoyable enough for people to spend money

I am not looking forward to the grind. They always make it worse creating a problem to sell a solution.

I came to play a game and not meander through a gift shop on the way to the game. People these days really don’t see any down side to microtransactions. Is it all rainbows and butterflies for these people.

The devs are releasing heroes the same rate as before, but its more regular now. Is the more content those trifling charms. Yeah I do not have some urge to add a swinging donut on my gun.

I like ftp games now like fortnite and apex. I have earned a lot of stuff in game without buying anything and still play for free

Its a good deal unless you feel like you have to have everything

Have you ever heard of a… casino? Free to play makes games more like a casino where the game itself is no longer important.

Are you saying f2p is more of a casino than lootboxes lmao
