Some people said it was in development for a long time.
I seriously don’t get how you guys consider this a competitive game mode when mercy can revive 10m away from the target, JQ is a lumberjack with 3 axes, Ashe can 1-shot, and tanks can chase down a sprinting soldier, + uncountable amounts of auto lock abilities. It’s just an entire circus mode to me.
I’m not even going to talk about the horrendous performance and bugs that I experience on a high-end system
I mean you can feel it but everyone knows it’s not true. We have seen the origins of this game mode and it started being worked on years ago, before anyone knew about Rivals.
Also this mode plays nothing like Rivals. It’s more of an answer to Deadlock than Rivals.
balance is one thing, personally, I’m fine with it being busted but I havent experienced any bugs apart from scoping near corners, or using abilities whilst scoped.
2 things on this.
if it has truly been worked on for as long as they claim then the state it is in it even more pitiful.
there was probably a reason it was cancelled. whatever it was going to be, I can guarantee it wasn’t a third person pvp mode.
most people have never played deadlock.
its like when paladins still existed, it used to he ows closest competitor (competitor in heavy quotations) even though they played completely different. it doesn’t mean they wont be compared.
I don’t use endorsements for anything other than reporting people. but the more I play the more things I notice. I have made 3 threads in 3 days on stadium and the issues I am noticing. I know im late to the party but still
When is this MR comparison going to end, people are ignorant to how games actually get made nowadays. The ONLY thing similar that was added as a “rush” was the 3rd person POV.
They already addressed that they are looking into fixing the endorsement system for the mode. I’m sure it didn’t work with it being an entirely new mode that has multiple matches unlike the core modes.
It should’ve been fixed a lot sooner though it seems.
it is overwatches closest competitor. the comparisons will literally never stop because they are a useful tool. the fact that this mode chose third person just makes it worse.
my bad, I dont bother keeping up with every word the devs say. mainly because half of it is bs.
so uhh, you only read the title and none of the other comments huh
I don’t get the point you’re trying to make here.
it seems like you think I didnt know that even though it was my entire point.
really?
ok, 1, what was cancelled? the pve mode the perks were made for.
2. a lot of work? its recycled from a cancelled project dude
there are exactly two relevant hero shooters on the market. ow and rivals. even without the third person I would have said the exact same thing.
Closest competitor in terms of player base but not gameplay. There’s also things copied from OW that MR took inspiration from, is that a bad thing? No it’s not, so why is it bad if OW we’re to do something similar (even though they aren’t).
They are completely different games and experiences (ESPECIALLY Stadium, it’s not even comparable to MR) that do not compare to one another except for the fact that they are both ability shooters. There’s a lot more things to compare about the two that are worse in MR as well.
Also just to note something here that I don’t understand. Why do people constantly say this?
Recycling content that isn’t being used is not a bad thing.
The PvE wasn’t even going in the direction of skill trees anymore when it was released (only items from chests) so we wouldn’t have gotten the talent system anyways.
They do not have fullly conceptualized builds ready past the current roster of 17 Stadium heroes so how is there recycling of content if heroes don’t have it to begin with?
Like the ONLY hero I’ve seen to have their kits be reused from PvE is Mei I think? (Mind you this is from the PvE announcement only too). Other than that powers don’t alter character kits to her extent of literally physically changing the abilities and how they function. Cause other than Mei we only see powers that are just purely statistical, size increases (particle barrier), or add a specific trait to your abilities/weapon.
So to say they are recycling all this content is a bit much I’d say. Like yes im sure a lot of it is being reused for the original heroes for PvE, you’re right. But to say this when there’s the entire rest of the cast who are coming to the mode who probably didn’t even get past their PvE talent concepts just doesn’t feel right because I’m fairly sure that they are having to come up with new ideas and powers for heroes that weren’t even a thought to them to even have in the PvE mode in the first place. It would’ve taken them literal years to add in new heroes to PvE if they were to implement them into the story missions with a fully fleshed out and individualized talent tree system.
no. closest competitor as in its the only other relevant hero shooter.
taking inspiration is not the issue, the issue is that the result turned out poorly.
I honestly dont see the point you are trying to make here. im not saying ow copied anything from MR, aside from first person, what I am say is that the mode was released to try to take attention away from MR.
no, its not. the only reason I brought it up was because people were claiming that the mode took more to make than it did.
do we know how many hero’s were in the game when the idea for the skill trees was scrapped? do we know how far into development they got before they scrapped it? the 17 we had might have just been the 17 they had done when it was cancelled.
pretty sure reins fire strike trail was in one of the trailers but I could be wrong.
doesnt zarya have a perk that allows her to bubble multiple people? doesnt orisa have one that makes her spin a deflect? im pretty sure theres a few more but I cant remember to save my life
who said all? the recycling argument only came up because people think the mode took more effort than it realistically did. its rushed and poorly polished and saying it took more effort than we think is 1. a poor excuse and 2. just not true.
have they said this? do we know the release schedule? is the mode popular enough to even warrant more dev time?
yeah, not everything was recycled. pretty sure JQ wasn’t out when pve was scrapped. but again, you seem to be missing the point about the recycled argument.
no one is claiming that the mode took no effort, just that with how much of it was recycled, it should have launched in a better state.
They made it competitive because it takes so long to end a game.
Qp doesn’t really cut it when you have 30+ minutes games.
As for the ranks and whatnot…ana has a perk that makes her sleep undodgeable so…yeah
