A lot of people are complaining that Doomfist is broken and needs to be deleted whatnot. I believe that maybe his shield gain/decay might be slightly overtuned but overall he is not a broken OP character as some people belive him to be. He either carries really hard or feeds really hard. He is similar to tracer in the fact that he is only as good as the player playing him.
The fact that we’re seeing so much doomfist is because of Brigitte. Brigitte makes half of the dps roster useless. There is a much higher need for burst damage because consistent damage will kill no one. And yes some heroes are overturned than others like hanzo (maybe?) for example, but the meta that we’re seeing today with doomfist is because of brig. To put it simply, doomfist is the tracer of this season.
I main Tracer, soldier, mccree, and widow and i have top 500 accounts as DPS only, support only, and a GM account tank only. His “buffs” are small they’re not big at all and his “buffs” aren’t the reason people are complaining. His bug fixes also aren’t the reason people are complaining. People are complaining because Doomfist is essentially doing what he’s always done that were played by a very niche group of people. Now that other dps suck because of brig people have picked up doomfist and are being played by a larger population hence they feel this “oppresiveness” a lot more.
Before Brigitte I could play tracer and completely destroy doomfist players but now if enemy team has doomfist AND brigitte, well i can’t play tracer, cant play soldier, maybe mccree? genji is useless against a doomfist, etc. my hero choices are much more limited because of brigitte.

That’s a throwaway statement that could be said about nearly every character.
I’ve never seen Tracer be this oppressive. And at least when Tracer starts attacking me I can react, control my character, and perhaps attack her.
Not so much with Doomfist most of the time. Tracer takes far more skill to get the same value.

So, the wrench in your theory is that Doomfist is still oppressive, annoying, and OP when Brig isn’t in the match.
But put them on a team? That combination has a special reserved place in hell.
Or because of Doom and Brigitte? Seems like you have an agenda to push here. I honestly prefer games with just a Brigitte on the enemy team because I can keep tabs on her.
I don’t think it’s because of Brig. Doomfist can get in, get a pick and get out. I think that’s more of a reason for his impact rather than people not being able to kill someone in 5 seconds (before Brig’s armor pack cd is done)
I think Doomfist should of been a tank instead of a high mobility hero with multiple CC abilities, inescapable kill combos, one shots, sustain, and an ultimate that is a free kill on heroes that don’t have mobility.
There just isn’t anything people just can’t help but pin on Brigitte, huh? Snipers become prominent? Brigitte’s fault. GOATS? Brigitte’s fault. Tracer’s Pulse Bomb nerf? Looking at you, Brigitte. Mercy gets nerfed again? Brigitte. Doomfist gets his bugs fixed and it becomes ridiculously obvious how over-bearing and oppressive he is to the entire roster? That’s somehow Brigitte’s fault too.
The introduction of brig made doomfist counters good, and made burst heroes way better. You cant pick a lot of the cast RN because they COULD swap to brig and negate you ezclap, whereas doom is a very safe pick and brig doesnt affect him as much.
lmao you guys must be in silver or plat to have ZERO understanding of this game. YEA its because of brig that we saw the sniper meta back in season 10/11 (including hanzo buff) and now the doomfist/sombra meta. What you thought it was just a coincidence that after brig got released that snipers became meta? or its just a coincidence that heroes like tracer and genji are trash now (except nano blade and even then nano blade can get shut down) and doomfist is the only viable close range hero that can do something against brigitte. Please at least reach top500 before you start talking posting and commenting on these forums because honestly its embarrasing and secondly, blizzard devs actually read what you low IQ hardstuck elo SR players say who have ZERO understanding of this game and make this game worse.
Imagine the outrage if all of tracers movement abilities also did damage, and healed her. I don’t see these two as very similar at all. Tracer is a glass cannon, doomfist is just a cannon.
I’ve said that before. Brig empowers Doomie by killing off Dive.
But with the changes in meta, so must balance be made. So I’m not really surprised with the upcoming nerfs.
I just hope they nerf it right and actually look into his Ult which is bad offensively but at the same time lacks counter play when activated.
It should be better offensively, so its not used more as a get out of jail free card (which is counter intuitive to what Doomie does) but with more counter play like with Death Blossom, Dragon Blade and Dead Eye etc…
I agree Doomfist isn’t that overpowered. In fact, just revert his last passive buff, while continuing to fix his bugs, and he’d be perfect. But Brigitte is not the source of all this game’s problems right now, and it’s tiring that people still seem to see her as such.
I played my first comp match of last season as doomfist, I have a total of like 3 hours on him, I had gold elims, I also never play dps, yes, doomfist require much skill
I’m sorry, but these two quotes don’t go together. That would definitely be included in my personal definition for a “broken” hero. I wouldn’t call him OP, but he’s definitely broken.
While it’s pretty frustrating to see the +100 pop up when someone else kills a Doomfist you’ve been whacking away at for a couple seconds, his shield generation isn’t why he’s a giant pest.
It is absolutely silly that people say there are no counters. There are numerous hard counters and soft counters. He IS a glass cannon whose effectiveness is almost entirely dependent on his opponent’s comp.
