All other programs on my computer have audio, Overwatch 2 does not.
Using my old falling apart headphones (literally falling apart, had to repair with tape a few months ago) I found that I could hear the audio from them, but specifically selecting my current headphones it goes back to silence
If you’re manually selecting the audio output device within the overwatch game settings, try using the default audio output. Then, in your windows sound settings set your audio output as the headset you want to use. I’ve found this is way more reliable.
Other than that, maybe see if a different audio device works. Once you’ve done this, try updating/reinstalling audio drivers for the device. This should hopefully rule out hardware vs software issue.
Hope this helps,
Cheers.
Hey man
Look at this post from me :
Do you have the same thing or no?
Hey I have been having issues with voice chat, and in searching for a solution I came across a fix for “no audio at all”.
The guy suggested that the reason for no audio is because OW isn’t actually selecting your default devices. Even though you have default device selected as your input and output. First make sure that you have the correct devices set in windows settings as DEFAULT and DEFAULT COMMUNICATION devices.
But if that doesn’t work, try actually disabling every other audio device in your windows settings except the one you want to use…restart the PC and the game and see if that works.
When I get money next, I will buy a headphones to usb adapter and see if it fixes it. as nothing here or elsewhere online works, i will reply here again whether it worked or not
Edit:
In one final attempt, an attempt made while really just hoping i wouldnt have to spend money, I figured it out.
My headphones are the ATH-M40x, and while that might not matter as much, its still helpful to know in case it doesnt work.
Overwatch 2 seems to reject ONLY 48000hz, whether that be a problem with my system or the game, you may want to try going above or below, because literally every other value worked for me (the preset values, like 44100 and 96000)
