No “Winning Trend” Bonus in Stadium

For this 19th Season, I recorded the whole Stadium progress from Rookie 5 to All-Star 5. There were some fairly large consecutive wins during my progress in the Pro League (a 10-win streak and an 8-win streak). However, I did not get a winning-trend bonus, even though the modifier page has it included (Play → Stadium → Competitive Info → Modifiers).

Interestingly, it happened twice (see games with [?] in Pro 2) that I didn’t lose any points, even though I lost, and every other loss would retract 80 points (it did not specify that it implemented a Loss Compensation, either). I thought, because of the 10-win streak, it cut me some slack (because my score didn’t drop after the loss):

4233 (8%) W9
4313 (28%) W10
4313 (0, 28%, loss) [?]

But the second time was after a second loss, wherein the first did retract 80 points:

4313 (+28%)
4233 (-80, 8%, loss)
4233 (0, 8%, loss) [?]

Because there were no losing points from Rookie through Elite, I only included the winning points for those leagues:

This weekend I couldn’t play, so I picked it back up yesterday.
Today I reached Legend 5 in DPS.

My progress has been as follows:

240 points up to Pro 1, and from there it started gradually decreasing — 220 per win, then 187, then 163, and so on, until I was getting 104 points per win. In my last match to reach Legend 5, I got 86 points.
The few times I’ve lost in All-Star rank, I’ve lost between 10 to 20 points.

I’ve played 47 matches, with 38 wins and 9 losses.

Now I’ll see how it goes in tank and support — I’ll let you know.

Anyway, 80 points for both wins and losses seems fine to me.

Last season, I reached Legend 5 in tank without any issues, starting from All-Star 4, earning 80 points for both wins and losses.

That’s an amazing winning percentage: 80%.

You needed at least around 9 wins to get through all of Pro, while I needed 25. Isn’t that backwards? If a player has a higher MMR, shouldn’t her or she get a more challenging route and need to fight more to climb?

I mean, I do understand the idea, a player has to get and stay in their predicted rank and push harder to go beyond that. And fortunately this pushback is not so incredibly strong like in last season. In a way as I said earlier, though, it seems counter-intuitive.

But unranked in regular comp works similarly, right. Depending on your skill you would be placed low (Bronze) or high (Platinum, etc.). A Bronze placed player has to may his/her way all the way up.

Hi! If you hit a high rank in previous seasons, and since every new season starts you at the lowest rank, it makes sense that there’s a system to help you climb back up faster—just like it works now. I started playing Stadium with only a couple of days left in Season 1. I only played DPS and got to Pro 5, which took me about 40 matches, 26 of them wins.

In Season 2, I played DPS from the start to reach Legend 4, and it took around 120 matches, with 85 wins. In Seasons 3 and 4, getting to the same rank only took about 40 wins. And that’s fine—if I had to grind as much as at the beginning, I’d probably get bored trying to climb again.

Personally, I like this system more than the classic competitive one, though the first week can be a bit chaotic since you run into a lot of lost players and have to give 200% to win.

Season 3 was a real problem, though.

I was,
All-Star in Season 1 (167 games total), 43% winrate
Legend in Season 2 (193 games total), 54% winrate
All-Star in Season 3 (82 games total), 47% winrate
All-Star in Season 4 (54 games at the moment), 60% winrate

In Season 2, I reached All-Star in 52 games, Legend in 70 games.
In Season 3, it took me 137 games to reach All-Star, because for a while I only got around 45 points for a win, and -60 points for a loss.
