Nintendo switch 2 patch?

The switch 2 is launching in a little over a day and we still have no news of what blizzard plans to do with overwatch on the switch. This is a prime opportunity for overwatch to gain both new players and returning ones, but they seem to not be taking it, which is disapointing… i love playing overwatch on switch but the horrible performance kills my desire to play it sometimes. The switch 2 on the other hand is more than capable of running overwatch at 60fps with detailed graphics. All it needs is a simple update which should be relatively easy to do.

This would be fantastic to have!

I’m not sure about it being a simple update that would be relatively easy to do. Despite that, I bet Blizz will do an update or even a whole new Switch 2 version of OW2 at some point. Just give them time. Obviously, the consoles not even out yet, so it’s not surprising to me that they haven’t announced anything.

Considering that Blizz has kept the Switch 1 version of OW2 updated with all other platforms suggests that their wanting/have incentive to keep a Switch version going. So like I said, give them time. More than likely, they’ll do some sort of Switch 2 version or patch.

Why haven’t we got any news

IKR. Plus isn’t there a mouse-like peripheral for it? That would be IDEAL.

Don’t forget the £50 update fee from Nintendo.

I’m still annoyed I paid $60 for a far inferior version of the game on a console that could barely handle it. I’d be surprised if they’d even go for Switch 2 given how there can’t be more than a couple hundred players on there…

The whole gyroscope gimick got old real quick.

You do realise gyro is actually really good

A controller just acts like a mouse if the inside connector is oriented downwards onto a surface. It’s not a different peripheral.

whatever do you mean by the “gyroscope gimmick” comment?

Gyro aiming is incredible and far, far better than aiming with an analogue stick like on PlayStation and Xbox.

Also the only reason overwatch doesnt have a huge switch player base is because of its notoriously bad performance. Switch 2 has way better hardware though

Mario Kart looks so good!

But ooff!

The games are so expensive!

To sell my Deck or not to sell?!

Decisions decisions!

No they aren’t.
They are market rate.

If Switch 2 can get this game running at 60fps then it might honestly start being my preferred console platform. I’ve played on Switch with gyro and once you tweak the settings and practice for a few hours it’s awesome. It’s so weird that PlayStation 5 never got a gyro update.

Blizzard should do the funniest thing ever and allow the Joycon mouse mode on Switch 2.

But worse than mouse and keyboard.

That’s your problem tbh

Yeah I’m getting old. The carpeltunnel is starting to set in. I should just retire.

We need an Overwatch 2 Optimization patch ASAP

It runs and looks like total Roadhog poop on the Switch 2, capped at 30 FPS, EVERYTHING is super pixelated, it looks like the render scale is at like 50% It’s bad…really really bad.

I am not paying $125 for a video game unless it comes with a hardware accessory.

Which is your choice (and probably the right one).

Sadly though. People constantly demanding games get bigger and bigger means they cost more and more to make. Prices have to go up.

If you factor inflation in, prices haven’t really changed since the N64 days, yet games cost significantly more to make in a market that isn’t growing in terms of audience.

Net result. Hardware and software costs have to increase.
