Next New Hero's got to be a tank that can lead from the front

Something like Rienhardt that can help protect the team and lead from the front, but is not played like a Rien e.i "hold shield and press W". Orisa is no good, most I see just stand at the back of the team, never moving. All other tanks are off tanks, they mostly get reluctant DPS players playing them like DPS. And no one wants to play shield tanks even though if you want to do well, you really need one.

Next hero’s got to be a Tank that can lead.

yeah it has to be but I just wonder how mad everyone will be if it is a dps instead.

Winston and Hammond main tank from the front. The only reason they’re not leading is because the team won’t w+m1 along with them.

A barrier tank for the good of the team? No one wants that, at least one that’s not balanced.

Have you seen the suggestions at the tank megathread?

All are fat DPSs with Zarya like mechanics (absorb damage to deal high DPS), CC abilities (ranged pinning spears, blast AoEs with moderate damage and boops), Sniper Cannons, 10 meter damage Auras or invulnerable titans that have no weaknesses.

Even tank mains make suggestions that permit tanks to deal 150-180 damage. While having team damage mitigation.

I THOUGHT WE WANTED TO GET RID OF GOATs?

Need a full tank and full healer character, with immortality shield. And a bazooka.

I think it’d be cool to have a normal HP total, normal size, normal mobility main tank. They’d have to tank entirely through abilities, not through being a meat mountain.

Like Mei but more so.

I think there is a lot to be had over an agile small hero who can project barriers for a while.

a lot more, jumping in, and projecting, and then bailing out for it to recharge quickly, and jump to the next place which needs it.

defending people who are hooked, frozen etc, being used for pushes but only as far as the next corner etc.

I think we need another main tank too tbh. We havent had one in like 2 years (no I don’t consider hammond a real tank)

And cute as a button while she does it as well.

I’d like to see a Spider Tank that looks like a Scorpion. Maybe its a genetically modified villain. Or maybe its an evil scientist riding in a mecha scorpion modified with Spider DNA. Either way it would be a Main Tank.

Trait: Wall Climber - Can walk on walls. Jumping off of walls is significantly more powerful than a normal jump.
Main Fire: SCOR Laser (constant laser beam with unlimited range that does percentage health dmg… bad against squishies, great against tanks)
Secondary Fire: Absorb (damage to you is converted to your own shields instead once released) 3 Second Max Duration, 6 Second CD, Shields Deplete over 3 Seconds

Ability 1: Web (Fires a ball of webbing forward. If it comes near enough to two adjacent walls, it will turn into a web, connecting to the two walls. Has 400 HP, Enemies can pass through but are slowed by 30% while touching the web) 8 Sec CD
Ability 2: Synergy (Depletes your own shields, applying them to all teammates under 400 health within 30 meters) 20 Sec CD, Shields deplete over 5 seconds.

Ultimate: Entrapment (Slams the Scorpion Tail into the ground, covers you in an impenetrable shield, and slows all enemies within 10 meters of you by 80% if they touch the ground, making them unable to jump). Max Duration: 5 Seconds.

I’m thinking more of a builder tank that sets up shields and maybe other tanking utilities.

Their ult can be a massive damage buff aura! nothing can stop that!

They prolly will put out a rein like hero next, community has been sick of rein zarya for awhile now and im sure they are aware of it.

I don’t disagree that another tank would be good, but it’s hard to design tanks that are viable and still different enough from existing tanks to be desirable.
