Is it just me or has there been a ninja-patch within the past 24 hours changing Wrecking Ball’s ultimate sound?
Every time I ult it sounds like Mr. Soundman took a handful of marbles and threw them against a wall/board/metal sheet.
I don’t know if I like that yet, but it definitely caught my attention being a hamster main…
I mean I heard that the new ball skin had a new sound effect, not sure what it was but perhaps it’s that.
Were you wearing the new skin?
Indeed. So maybe me hearing marbles thrown at wall is actually 8-ball hammond skin trying to emulate bowling pins being “striked”? “Struck”? “Stricken”? You know what I mean.

Yes, yes I am slow. To my defense: I did not expect a “regular” skin to have special effects. Pink Mercy, yes… Comic Tracer, okay. A “regular” hamster skin though? I did not see that coming. 
I tried out Ulting in the Training Range with the new 8-Ball skin and the new Ult sound is so cool and fitting for the skin.
I love how they’re doing more nice little details with skins - much like how they gave Funky Baptiste a unique sound when you equip the skin in the Hero Gallery.
But why the wooden pieces on the skin…? Is it a blend of various billiard styles?
I think you may be confusing sports here. An 8 ball is from billiards, it’s not a bowling ball.

I assume the wooden parts are to resemble the actual snooker-table, may have looked too bland being a full on 8-ball though the shiny texture is nice
