Does anyone know how to get the new World of Warcraft player icons they just added?

Pretty sure its gonna be part of warcraft 3 reforged or something.
There were 2 banners emote for Tracer when the WoW movie came out.
No one remembers them though, cause NOBODY uses it :((

Yea they were. Whenever I place them down people are confused at how i got them.

You need to preorder the Warcraft 3 Reforged: Spoils of War Edition, It gives you those player icons and some animated sprays for OW along with stuff for every other blizzard game. Funnily enough these overwatch items were never advertised in the spoils of war edition and I think the overwatch team tried to sneak them in quietly, so it looks to be a bonus!
I preordered the spoils of war edition a while ago and the items still aren’t unlocked, so chances are they’ll unlock when reforged goes into beta or gets fully released (sometime between the beginning of blizzcon and the end of the year).

If you check details, Overwatch isn’t specified in the bonus for games. Those are : HotS, D3, SC:R, SC2.
But it would make sense tbh, hope they update it so we know.
I found it suspicious from the start that they had nothing for Overwatch in the spoils of war edition, I was hoping for a Reinhardt paladin skin (which could still happen, I can dream dammit!) but these sprays and player icons are still pretty great.

Arthas was always my favourite character in the warcraft lore so I’ll no doubt use his player icon, but I think the lich king icon, while still being good, is a bit goofy. My personal favourite player icon would have to be Kel’thuzad though.

I haven’t seen player icons, but the four new animated sprays are almost certainly tied to Warcraft 3, since they’re showing attack animations for the four basic combat units in WC3 (footman, grunt, ghoul, archer).

Use the filter while you’re in the spray gallery, and tick the “special” and “unowned” boxes
They just show the WC3 unit models each doing an attack animation on a loop. As someone mentioned, they’re categorized as “Special” in Hero Gallery if you want to see for yourself.
