Hey there, I’m looking for some well rated players to play with and learn from. I’m trying to main tank. Qualified gold, but caught a nasty losing streak (and tilted off the planet) and dropped to silver lol. I’m open minded and looking to get better

It’s completely normal dropping after placements. I placed plat when I first started and dropped to silver. I thought the system was rigged but looking back I sucked. Main advice is pick a few people to get good with at least one in each role to help your teammates. And always stay in line of sight of the healers they can’t heal if they can’t see you.

Go check out some YouTube vids. There are some lovely basic guides out there.
I prefer the youroverwatch YouTube channel. They seem to know what is what.
Don’t worry about “Pro analysis” type videos for now. Just focus on the basics

I’d take everything from YourOverwatch with a grain of salt. I used to watch their videos regularly, until I found out that they firmly believed Roadhog’s hook was/is a delayed hitscan. If they can be wrong about something that simple, I’d be concerned about what other mistaken advice they give.
Pro streams, especially ones that feature your main(s) are probably the best place to start learning
