New Teaser: Things to Keep in Mind

  1. Lucio’s presence might not just be a distraction. Devs might be using this week to tease several things, one of which being a Lucio short or some sort of lore development with him.

  2. The dog in the poster is not like the primates. It is being walked by a human (you can see the legs and feet), so it likely won’t be a “jetpack cat” scenario.

  3. Junker Queen’s appearance is slightly different on the poster. She looks more high tech than in previous posters, but keep in mind those posters in Junkertown are just a rendition of her.

  4. The Junkers call Omnics “Bots.”

  5. Junker Queen’s lines on Junkertown are missing.

  6. Hammond might be associated with Talon (based on the location of the teaser being Rialto).

  7. Junker Queen might be associated with Talon (explains new gear; reference to that old leak about everyone choosing sides).

I’m pretty sure a Lucio short is in the works.

However, doesn’t a lot of people call omnics ‘bots’? I swear I saw graffiti in Kings Row having the word ‘bots’.

My guess is it’s Antonio. The “obvious” Hammond and Junker Queen hints are just to throw people off. Like with Amre and Brigitte.

I believe things like Zenyatta’s abilities and Mercy’s Rez are in game only and not canon

Are you sure? Because that is some…weird stuff if Rez is actually in universe

I dunno, maybe in the ten seconds before a character respawns they’re not actually dead, just on the brink of death, and mercy pumps a massive amount of her healing chemicals into them to heal all their wounds at once

REz is canon, but it’s basically a suped up Defribilator. Mercy’s nanobots flood the recently deceased, forcing blood to move and the lungs to expand and contract and forcing the heart to beat. Basically, she’s manually making the body function, repairing it until it can beat alone.

It’s evidence that Junkerqueen’s personality is already fleshed out.

They used assets from Rialto in the teaser.

There isn’t really a spot on the actual Rialto map where this could actually just be slapped in easter egg style.

And if Blizzard made a completely custom alleyway for the teaser, it wouldn’t be a stretch to believe that they’re working on a new map in general, which would also explain the “calm before the storm” caption, which is typically said about scenes, not people.
