I was playing life weaver when I realized that instead of watching a bar fill what it was something like another game I know where it is a skill check instead of just a number. Imagine a bar with a large yellow space on both sides. a smaller orange space inside, then finally a small green space inside. a bar moves back and forth from left to right and when you left click the bar stops and the color the bar lands on is coordinated with a specific amount of healing. The colors are immaterial and could easily be changed to any other color, but I think this would give the game a new dynamic and interesting way to play it instead of just standing there and holding left click when playing healer. This could also be used to change the way many other hero abilities work so that the skill ceiling is much higher and not just based on one specific aspect of ability. Please let me know what you think.
Madden 25 style huh?
So give your support something else to focus on instead of the team? “Guys hold up, I cant heal you right now till I’m done with this mini-game!”
thank you for your feedback i appricate your perspective.
I might have said it jokingly but I meant it in that having a mini-game on screen to maximize healing off of would just be a distraction. You already have people complain that some supports don’t do there job enough and this could just feed into that perspective.
i never played madden, if that’s what’s going on there then yeah. my idea was something like outter ring is +40 health, inner ring is +50 health, crit heal is +100. but like i said numbers are immaterial
Having your heal output determined by something on a separate timer removes player agency. People won’t like that. When someone needs their support they can’t afford to wait for a bar to be in the right place.
“Sorry tank you died because the timer bar wasn’t in the right place when you needed heals”. That’s luck not skill.
It’s a neat idea. Kind of like an active reload but for burst healing. For the bar, you could probably just use the health bar of the enemy you’ve selected to heal. This support could have unique HUD elements that transform their allies’ health bars for the minigame.
Y’all are so determined to make OW into dbd that you’re trying to add skill checks
that’s a great way to put it.
It’s not that the healer can fail to heal it’s that they can heal more by doing something a little extra while healing. i understand that there is a lot going on in a fight and mayvbe it’s just my own adhd but having a timed rythem thing that can be used to make and attack or ability stronger based on a skill check is awesome to me. i’m not saying make them stop the fight and solve a riddle or complete a slow game of tic-tac-toe, more like heal burst and then left click again to trigger the ability boost.
i really like your idea coolusername, it builds on something already in the game and makes it more comprhensive. i’d say it might be harder for newer players but this would be a system that even when you’re doing poorly you’re still doing the same output as OW2.
thank you for your time. <3
It’s not Dead by Daylight, OP.
