NEW ON PTR! Mike Morhaime honored in the Blizzard World map (Photo/Video)

I was doing a map search on the 1.30 PTR looking for any lore breadcrumbs (being so close to BlizzCon) and I discovered a new Easter Egg in the BlizzardWorld Map.

Simply go into the Nexus Experience (near the Heroes Arcade/Defense Spawn A) and you will see a portrait of Mike Morhaime and special music playing in the lobby. Now I am REALLY hyped for BlizzCon!

Features of the room:

  • The Blizzard Core Values in the same bronze plaques like those around the Orc Statue at Blizzard Entertainment Headquarters appears on the floor.
  • If you stand near the Mike Morhaime portrait, you hear some of his messages to the community at Blizzcon
  • Its called the Founders Hall
  • There is what appears to be a letter of some sort to the right and Blizzard three core titles original releases in “Gold Record Label” cases on the left.
  • A timeline exists showing each of the game releases up through 2018, but Overwatch is of course absent per the lore of Blizzard World.

Whoever at Blizzard that came up with that tribute idea needs a raise. It is truly fantastic.

I don’t know if I’d call it “small little things” this is a pretty big revamp to an area so Mike can have a room dedicated to him (which he 100% deserves)

I am back in the game, if you stay long enough you hear some of Mike Morhaime’s speeches from BlizzCon

I have a custom game skirmish setup for the BlizzardWorld map if you need to see it for yourselves

I did some internet searching, I found Mike’s greeting card that now appears in the game. Apparently that plaque is in the Blizzard Vault now.

After a thorough search, it seems this is the only map change in this patch. So no new hero hints.

Correction, apparently the payload has changed on Route 66.
