New On Fire Mechanism procs way too easily?

Back in OW1 and even in OW2 before the Season 5 patch, you would get on fire by doing some awesome plays.
There was no fire indication in OW2, but you could still hear your hero saying “I’M ON FIRE” so the mechanism was still in, its just the UI for it that was disabled.

After the Season 5 changes, it feels way too easy to be on fire, to the point that it doesn’t feel special or exciting anymore when you get it.
Everyone is constantly on fire.
You are sitting and just moving the payload “I’M ON FIRE!”
You hold your shield as Reinhardt and block for 5seconds “I’M ON FIRE!” and so on.

I feel like the new on fire values need some fine tuning.

TBH I’m not seeing the appeal of the mechanic as a whole. I think it was better as a voice line and not cluttering up the UI

there’s apparently a higher level now? Have you been seeing that too?

Yes there are two states “ON FIRE” and then “BLAZING” which is basically more on fire value, but it doesn’t do it for me, the mechanism loses its meaning when everyone gets on fire every few seconds for whatever reason.

Plus it’s cluttering the UI too much like SorawoToriko said.
I much prefer the OW1 on fire style.

Hope you guys enjoy the new content. Awesome feature. This is exactly what this game needed. More screen clutter.

yes it does. they said they added more supportive things that add fire to your meter for supporting your team, IX mercy dmg boost, but she literally only gets on fire by resurrecting and when she does, she almost never is able to keep it on.

also would be very nice to see a FIRE METER SO WE CAN SEE THE PROGRESS OF OUR BAR!!!

My favourite on screen clutter is when people are spamming “yes, no, thanks” etc it puts a marker on the screen.
Because i REALLY need to know where someone is saying YES. :upside_down_face:

It depends on the hero tbh. Some heroes become on fire way too easily while others practically never.

It looks almost exactly the same as normal on-fire to me. I didn’t even notice until I saw the two side-by-side.

I actually wanted a bigger differentiation between “fire” and “blazing”

I find the new on fire to be obnoxious. The horn procs everytime I do anything, and the sound byte lasts too long. It got to the point where I couldn’t even hear actual sound cues from the game over the horn’s constant audio clutter.

I have no idea how they took an existing system and just made it worse. But I hope they either make it proc far less often, or give me an option to just turn it off in settings.

I think so. I think it’s a little too easy to gain onfire.

This community: “Blizzard removed ‘on fire’ from Overwatch and it sucks! They’re cutting features! Give us ‘on fire’ back!!”

Blizzard: “Okay, we’ve rebuilt the on fire system and added multiple ranks to it, so now you’re on fire for performing well, and blazing when you do ‘really’ well” (blazing is what the previous on fire used to be).

This community: “How dare you give us THIS trash!! This isn’t the ‘on fire’ we wanted! It’s too easy to get! This is pathetic!!”

Honestly I swear Blizzard could decide to cave to the demands of this forum, bring back hero mode, bring back 5v5, bring back loot boxes and ya’ll would still have a cry fest about them doing what you wanted them to do in the first place.

It is, looks like super Saiyan 1 and 2, more flame and shiny :joy:even the icon is slightly different

THIS IS AN ON FIRE THAT HAS GONE BEYOND ON FIRE!

if they just bring the old system back when you could see the points when you are healing, killing, and blocking damage way cleaner and more rewarding than this…
